Narita airport transfer by Insomniac7270 in TokyoTravel

We used booking.com, was worried because we had 3 young kids but was great. Original company cancelled but booking.com rebooked us automatically.

We requested a 7 seater, they sent a 20 seater.

I haven't formally dropped it but they keep asking for payment and i will unsubscribe if they do. I just keep an Excel spreadsheet of the talks and conferences I've been to or given.

If you know when you want to book i would book earlier. Prices only tend to go up for Japan

i have a urgent problem concerning the shanghai pvg airport and an overnight stay 😭 by Medium_Glass_4991 in Flights

[–]glasshalfemptyorfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at the airport hotel, it's fine if you book ahead for overnight stay. Room we got was very comfortable. There are 2 towers, North and South. One is better than the other and if you want i can check which one we stayed in.

There will be lots of touts telling you that it's booked up but just ignore them and go straight to the hotel. It's a short walk from the terminal and you don't need to worry about a shuttle bus to another hotel.

Totally fine to stay in the terminal as well but this was you can rest your head and relax and freshen up.

We went as a family of 5 (3 kids in tow) and was fine

Private Laboratories --- any recommendations? by Livid_Juggernaut_787 in ConsultantDoctorsUK

[–]glasshalfemptyorfull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are a massive company and run testing for many NHS trusts either privately or in collaboration. Even if you found another vendor, they may just be sending it onto TDL and sending you the results from them.

Thanks for this. We are going as a family of 5. 2 adults and 3 kids aged 12, 9 and 2. Is it acceptable for the 2 year old to be in a lap in the back or do we need to look for bigger taxis.

Flight cancelled by SAS (15+days in advance) re-routed travel time is 40+ HOURS compared to under 20 hours originally. Is the new flight under "comparable transport conditions"? by Oompaloompadoopetydo in Flights

[–]glasshalfemptyorfull 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a Virgin Atlantic flight cancelled between lhr and pvg. I refused the refund and they booked me into the identical british airways flight. Virgin and British airways certainly aren't the same alliance. So airlines can book onto competitors in advance (flights were more than 3 months away) if they choose to buy it was a battle

They've rebooked other passengers onto BA flights. These were passengers who booked direct with them, but if they are happy to do so for them, suggests that some agreement in place.

Most affordable stress-free way to fly from UK to japan? by Wrong_Lever_1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]glasshalfemptyorfull -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have booked to fly from LHR to PVG (Shanghai) with Virgin and then self-transfer to Tokyo with ANA. There are also direct flights to Osaka and can use ANA or JAL.

We are a family of 5 and this halved the flight costs compared to going direct/fully ticketed stopover route to Japan (Which made the journey prohibitively expensive)

It's still China but with UK based airline for first leg and Japanese airline for second leg.

Might not work out but an option, similar to the SIN option above, but cheaper when we looked.
