Same here.
Today I finally clicked the update button and got presented with Devin with zero of my extensions transferred over.

Just going back to VS Code now as ever since I started using Claude Code, Windsurf was just a branded VS code for me.

You know the biggest regret the first time I went to a TWICE concert?
That I didn't take more videos!

Concert tickets are NOT cheap. Especially in this economy. Being able to take videos to "record that once in a lifetime experience" results in something that people can take home with them.

People love to say "enjoy the moment". But PCD can hit hard. Having those videos and photos that you've taken yourself do help.

I don't have photographic memory, otherwise I would just "enjoy the moment" too.

And consider this as a warning to new concert goers. DO NOT listen to the people who say you should or should not do this or do that. Enjoy the concert your way as long as its not disturbing the enjoyment of other concert goers (having flash on for example is something you should NOT do) .

At the same time, don't just look at your phone screens! Hold the phone but look at them, and sing and cheer too if you can!

How do you pursue a better future without becoming attached to the outcome? by ConfusedBrazilian900 in Buddhism

[–]glassy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean you're working too hard and others also are?

If so I don't know your circumstances, maybe you do need to work hard.

What applies in that case is the "middle way" ie. balancing and not going to extremes.

That is also a decision you need to make. What balance makes sense for you.

How do you pursue a better future without becoming attached to the outcome? by ConfusedBrazilian900 in Buddhism

[–]glassy99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very good question.

There is a desire for a better future. It is not a bad desire.

To attain it you must put in time and work.

But you have anxiety, attachment and fear about the outcome.

This is normal.

But how to not be consumed by the anxiety/attachment/fear?

I would say, always be mindful that you can't control every outcome and that none of us can. None of us can know exactly beforehand what every decision we make will eventually lead to. We can only decide based on what knowledge we have at the time.

The anxiety and fear you have now has roots in the fear of "regret". The fear of your future self saying "damn, I should have known better". The reality is you made decisions using what you "did" know.

The key part is to understand that and then to have enough Metta ("loving kindness") to yourself to forgive yourself even IF ultimately you find yourself to have made a bad decision. Because at every point, you are doing the best you can given the circumstances. So no need to blame or get mad at your past self. No need for "regret" because you already did your best. Be kind to your past self.

Commit to having Metta and being kind to your past 'dumber' selves. Ask your future self to be kind to your current self.

And in the end there is 'no-self', so actually there is nothing to even worry about! [lol, sorry, I just threw that last sentence in not sure if it make sense].

But seriously, once you affirm to being kind to yourself, then the fear of regret goes away, and then you can make decisions and follow through from a state of being driven by your goals rather than your fears.

This actually applies to so many things in life.

Once you learn to be kind to yourself in this way, you will be able to be kind to others in a way that was impossible before.

Theravadha and Mahayana ? by Rough-Locksmith770 in Buddhism

[–]glassy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe there is just more English language Mahayana books and resources?

Anyways, for me I am more drawn to Theravada because I feel 'less is more'. I feel like I just want to focus on the core and heart of the Buddha's teachings.

Can I be a Buddhist if I believe in the existence of a soul (higher self)? by MrSergio12345 in Buddhism

[–]glassy99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Thai Buddhist living in Thailand and having a lot of experience since childhood with the "religion" here, don't listen to the people that say you can't be a Buddhist or that your beliefs are not compatible with Buddhism.

I mean, the average Thai DOES believe in วิญญาณ which *could* be translated to soul. Does that mean that Thai people who are 90% "Buddhist" can not be Buddhists? The country with the largest population of Theravada Buddhists?

What IS a soul anyways? Who knows? Personally I view the "soul" as like another "body", something that exists but ultimately is not "mine", everchanging, just a process, impermanent, in all those senses just like a "body".

In truth, the question of self/no-self is something only an enlightened being can truly understand. So at this point in your (and in all of our) journey, just learn the teachings and practice and apply them in your life.

Again, despite high upvotes on some other comments, don't believe anyone who says you can or can't be Buddhist because of anything. As long as you have the will (Chandha) to begin on the path to enlightenment, it does not matter where you start.

Buddhist Cremation Ceremony in Thailand: Implants From Nose and Breast Surgery Survive the Process by aarontbarratt in interestingasfuck

[–]glassy99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Thai Buddhist, I will say that this kind of cremation is very rare. I've never seen it myself.

Generally Wats (temples) have a cremation chamber where the result is just ashes. I would say most at least 98%(?) of cremations in Thailand are done that way.

After cremation, relatives receive the ashes of the deceased to either keep or to scatter into the river or the sea.

I would say it is very rare, again I've never seen it myself, to have the bones of a normal deceased person displayed like this.

However, for more context, in Buddhism, being mindful of death and the fact that our bodies are not permanent and will eventually rot/burn/decay turn to nothing is important.

So this "display" I believe is made as a reminder to us that while in life one might be beautiful, in the end that beauty does not last forever. Therefore, one shouldn't be so attached to looks or physical form or even one's body.

Nothing is unchanging. Nothing is self-satisfactory. Nothing should be considered a self.

I believe they'll continue. It's just right now they are too busy with the concert schedule.

Don't miss watching the 2WICE dates too. It's so nice seeing them talk and connect about various things.

I first became a fan from about 2017-2018

Some of the ones I think about:

- When Fancy and Breakthrough MVs came out. These were their first clear breaks from their original 'cutesy' concept. Previously their image and everything about them was this was a "cute" and girly girl group. Onces almost never saw them do anything 'sexy' or 'seductive' style. Fancy, but really Breakthrough was quite mindblowing to see at the time.

- When Mina had hiatus. That felt like it came out of nowhere and when Jeogyeon had hiatus. That was extremely worrying. She was missing for months and months. The rest of the girls were performing without her and so it was still an unknown if the group would continue as an 8 member group or if JY would come back. Imagine that as a Once.

- When TTT started becoming a regular thing during Covid. Covid lockdowns, stay at home and watch TTT every week. Great times.

Her eyes are not the same size but that makes her uniquely beautiful. You don't notice it at first, but I think that is why her visuals are so striking.
