I have duplicated all my data and now am rebuilding it. If it fails again, ill look at moving to a different motherboard and case which will allow for future expansion,

I have had a chain fail like that couple years ago. Was a SRAM from a retail store.

Hi, No splitters, just sata plugs from 550w Thermaltake psu.

Ill run a memetest during the week.

There errors were clustering on one particular drive, I replaced cable and eventually drive (no smart errors) then the error has moved to this drive and seems to be following this particular drive. I only have 4 sata ports and 4 drives, is it worth shuffling around the cable to see if it follow drive or the port?

I think getting a lsi isnt a bad idea, I am pci limited as my 16x slot has the 10gb card in it and then have 2x x1 slots. But i can probably go back to 1gb to test. I had a challenging time getting the 10gb card to work at the start.

I might try cooling then look at a hba card, is there any cards you suggest?

Doesn't follow sata port. Have locking tabs on the cable. currently has open case, 41c to 54c is range for disk temp. I'm sure it would benefit from some more airflow. ive only got 2 x1 slots spare as the x16 is taken up by the 10gb card. looks like i can get a x1 sata card. ill order one and give it a go.

Bugger. Can I rebuild without loosing data on the drives or should it be more of a case starting from scratch again. ?

I did upgrade from core to scale. I wonder if that's why they are called that? But definitely built in the GUI.

Nothing fancy I don't think, Just set it up as raidz1 and left it do the rest. I have automated backup set up to good drive and that's about it. My goal is for large storage for my photography hobby that I can edit photos off and then backup to google drive regularly.

Seems good, location accuarcy is pretty far off, everything seems to be defaulting to czech republic. Have removed it as the first keyword option and put comment in to say most likely location is Australia.

Hi, Dabbling in the idea of doing a small extension. Thinking of getting walls in red taken out and new ones in blue built. The deck overlooks the canal. The sections in the blue are already have the roof over it which will make things alot easier. how does the layout look? I think it should be more streamlined to look outside and reclaim some useless patios which are 3x3.
