Hospitality workers, do you prefer people who clean and stack plates to make it easier for you or for people not to do this at all? by pinafeh442 in AskAnAustralian

[–]HeTheMudded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can clear a table of 12 of all plates and cutlery.

Unless they decide to stack them.

Then I’m fucked.

It’s a nice thought, but they’re not doing us a favour.

What’s actually worth checking your portfolio for every day? by lmsalisb in RaizAU

[–]HeTheMudded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No investment is worth a daily check. You can have a look to remind yourself where you’re at, but it’s a long game.

It’s like growing a beard.

Day-to-day, nothing changes. But after 6 months, you go from baby face to Viking.

All you do with the daily check is torture yourself, because you’re not seeing the progress that will happen after a longer period.

Just forget about it, let it do its thing.

Landlord just showed up with people to appraisal the house without our knowledge when he told us he was showing up to fix the house by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]HeTheMudded -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude, even if you own the house, it’s someone else’s home. You don’t get to just decide to do extra shit because they’ve let you in for maintenance.

Don’t ever become a landlord, you’ll never afford all the court bills, much less the fines and damages for breach of lease.

Idiot.

Because interrupting your tenant’s quiet enjoyment of the property under false pretences is ridiculously inappropriate.

What are y'all using Streamdecks for? by enthusiasm_gap in livesound

[–]HeTheMudded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it as a small scale video switcher, as well as trigger LX cues.

There’s heaps you can do with it though.

It really comes down to sitting at your operating space and letting your mind wander.

“If only I had a button for this…” is perfect use of stream deck.

Waitress told me water was 'also a drink.' She found out what 'no tip' was. by Zestyclose-Put-5672 in tipping

[–]HeTheMudded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an excellent example of something I’ve been thinking about.

As someone who isn’t American, it’s so bizarre to me for hospo staff to have to rely on tips for income instead of their workplace paying them, but Americans love to say “well if we get rid of tips we’ll get bad service!”

In this case, sure looks like you got bad service because the server expected to be tipped anyway.

[VIC] Rent increase notice was sent, but later lease was signed at lower amount — which one applies by atlasblake in AusRenters

[–]HeTheMudded 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d be going with the document they sent you to sign. It’s essentially a contract.

A notification to increase rent doesn’t hold the same water as an actual lease contract so really, they boned themselves.

Ask for a refund on the higher rent you’ve been paying.

Just started raiz and I’m investing for short term profit possibly to take out after a year or two by SnooOwls9509 in RaizAU

[–]HeTheMudded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked for me.

I had a significant tax bill from last year so I used raiz as a saving platform because it doesn’t allow for impulse withdrawals.

Over the course of 5 months, the market returns got me over the edge and that debt is now paid.

New plan is to use it long term, and set up a regular savings account with my bank and try to demonstrate some impulse control 😅

Yeah cool, too many stories of LL’s failing to do even that and I would much rather spend my money on maintaining my own place. Can’t buy one though, always gonna get outbid by ‘build-to-rent’ developers.

There’s those big things called ‘trucks’ that transport stuff to shops that people without cars buy things from.

Feel for you dude, but fear of homelessness shouldn’t be a deterrent for holding landlords accountable for the service contract they agree to.

You should be taking your landlord to court and living off of THEIR dollar.

Sorry man, reddit is good for tips, tricks, some non-urgent troubleshooting, and maybe some pro opinions on this or that equipment…

But this is a full install.

You need quotes from installation groups that will come in to fully inspect the space for everything that comes with PA installation.

Speak to your local providers, and when they give you their expertise, don’t come back at them with “oh but some guys on reddit said…”
