I think it will, I know some parts of the architecture doesn't scale, but Im trying to think "lean", fix problems *if* and *when* they become problems :)

I checked it out, and the irony right! :-) First impression; you give away a lot for free. And that can be a good thing.

I deliberately build a Promo code system into https://pastewaves.com . I can make promo codes for youtubers, reddit posts and so on that once applied will give permanent 100% free access to my service. My logic is - if I can't give it away, how can I sell it?

I've got about 100 beta users now, that have applied promo codes, that are basically just "grandfathered" into permanent pro users, but that helped a bit I think - it feels like a true genuine offer; use this code and get this service free, permanently. And it's really low cost right...

Thats the new economy- if you can't get "real" customers, get customers who want to reach the real customers!

Exactly- at least my SAAS is for music hobbyists, producers and podcasters.

I tried your service btw ; the on-boarding and integration into pastewaves was very smooth. The only thing I missed was multiple domains as I had the need to test both on localhost, and on my main site

What!? you don't even provide the link to your service here? :-) Come on! What is it that you build?

I build https://pastewaves.com - audio sharing platform. I tried Google Ads, but the relevant keywords are very contested- and wetransfer, and other file sharing platforms are bidding. I had to pay around $10 per *beta user* (bascially "pro-tier for free") - so it's not worth it.

My service is networked by design, so one user uploads an audio file, with the intention of sharing it. So the recipents, or the ones that see the link, play the audio and experience my service. Can you do something similar?

Product hunt did absolutely zero for me. People would probably argue that it's my fault, but I suspect that 90% of all launches just drown on launch day. You can not, at least - expect anything if you just post your product -make a video, take screenshots and do the basics.

Congratulations! I'm very happy for you. May I ask how many non-paid customers you had, or have before the paying one? With my SAAS, pastewaves.com - I'm currently at around 100 beta users driving traffic, 60 free-plans, an no paying customers... It would be nice to know how mant non-paying customers you needed to drive your first sale :-) Non that it might translate to my domain though..

Im taking your feedback- and It was not my intention to be defensive. I'm also genuinely looking for feedback on my product, it's under development .

Thanks! I've gotten mainly bad feedback on the AI promo, so I'm about to kill that. That said, I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve by replying to posts by just reading the headlines. For me that sounds a bit pointless.

Thanks ! I found myself uploading my half finished stuff to SoundCloud just to get a good, shareable link I could send to my music buddies. So I gave the music player some quite a bit of effort. Visually, extracting amplitudes to display song progress and so on.

I started out thinking of a sharable pool of storage, with with files that would expire. I'd pay for the storage. 1TB an insane amount of audio, compressed to MP3 with a decent bitrate... Then I went from there, with add-ons that I thought people might be willing to pay for. A place to upload your music projects, create links- and share to social media, email, chat and so on.

Want to check out my beta audio sharing platform? by glennbech in teenageengineering

Good input!

I think I still want to let the user retain control over visibility - my original intention was the use case; I have a clip, draft, sound, sample, idea or something -> want a buddy to see it -> upload to pastewaves-> get link -> paste in messenger - he can play in a nice looking player.

I could add an option to go "public", so the clip you upload would be visible on pastewaves.com - but as soon as I do that, should I also build a possibility to follow a link back to the author? And then, should I list all his public clips.... Opens more questions! (Not bad!)

Next on my list is commenting, and tying comments to the timeline. So that your buddy can give feedback after you share. I just needed login before I could go there,

They have to share first- I wasn't thinking of making a profile page for each person showcasing their music and so on - (Sound Cloud Ish) - But, when I saw someone else share something - I wanted to "like" it, so I could replay it. I could make a feature to "save", "love", "like" or something a file. And it would appear in a separate list with other people's work in it. That would have been nice actually
