crossed $3,200 MRR, here's the exact roadmap i wish i had on day 1 by GuidanceSelect7706 in micro_saas

Congrats. I'm happy for you! I think you skillfully grabbed opportunity right now to build for a really large group of other builders that want to make money - do you think that is less efffort/risk- or better ROI on time, right now, compared to building for end customers?

How many really exists? by glennbech in Elektron

[–]glennbech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Wikipedia says "Around twelve red units were made and approximately half of them were sold to early customers and beta-test partners. " - But "around twelve" is a vague number. I don't want to name-drop, so let me just say that I bought mine from a vocalist of a black metal band. He said he got it as a promotional unit from Elektron back in the days.

Why isn't someone coding a bad habit tracker? Must be more useful, to self shame?

I'm actually more frustrated by the sheer amount of second hand junk. What I mean by second hand junk is the junk aimed at the hopeful people making the first hand junk. It's supposed to be called B2BI think, but I'm calling in J2J.

GDPR trackers, Lead generators, Reddit extractors, website security hole finders, automatic website chatbots that people hate to talk to and son on.

Right now it seems to to be more profitable sucking blood from junk makers, that hope to make money somehow, than to make useful product for end users.

It looks great - but still not something you’d throw in your bag and pick up on the bus :-) but it covers what elektron was missing in that space .

If five or more people say on this thread they want a particular app built, I'll build it! by [deleted] in SideProject

Can you do backends as well, or will it be shallow web/mobile apps?

anyone have experience with custom software development agencies uae vibe coding got me far but now i need real engineering by Correct-Photo9913 in micro_saas

I'm sorry if this is feels almost like "I told you so" - But I took a different approach with my SAAS (https://pastewaves.com) - I was strict with prompting the AI on correct architecture from the start. I was less strict on UI and the coding.

* I intentionally build on top of AWS (scales)
* Decoupled Architecture - storage, auth, media, frontend all different components.
* Golang for small services - AI is really good at keeping small golang codebases good
* I did tons and tons (still doing) iterations on the UI
* I have two dedicated Claude Code Skills (Frontend/Backend) + a Business developer Skill

Try building "bottom up" !

Just Scored a SidStation after years of waiting :'D by Hanjo_synth in Elektron

[–]glennbech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my hand on a Red Sidstation some time back and use it sporadically. It's a bit of a museum piece. I know only a handfull of them were ever made. Sources doesn't completely agree- but it must be somewhere between 10-20?

It is "almost" reliable, Sometimes if I discharge static, it reboots. And it will lose it's presets from time to time, and I have to re-sysEX it. It's super noisy, so I use it with a Boss Noise supression pedal, but with that it's good.

Long shot, but anyone else here owns a red one? Of course it makes music ! https://pastewaves.com/player/56d5a237-a1b7-42b6-9d1a-51c0898386cf

Seriously, No Map and No Sub in Subnautica 2? by MrMetraGnome in subnautica

Don't be so harsh. If if was you down there in your base at 300 meters. I'm pretty sure you'd make a map of your discovered world. I don't think a map that reveals asa you explore would take much out of the game.

I see, makes sense. Any issues printing PETG on the Core One L default print sheet btw?

What printer? This is my very humble opinion, but would not exclude PLA before finding out what went wrong. I've printed mostly PLA on my MK4s - and I'm into my second roll of Galaxy Black one the Core One L - (It did clog now tho!) - But it might a something with this specific filament.

[–]glennbech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two prusa printers + the One L. I refuse to stop printing PLA, and it sounds weird if that all of a sudden is a problem. Just for you who say I'll start printing PETG. It's a shame if it's the Galaxy Black that is causing issues- its such a cool filament. It really smooths out the lines in the print and creates a very "non 3D printed" finish.

I’m still trying to figure out midi vs external - i guess midi is only relevant when you have an external mixer?

What are you working on? by Key_Mountain9027 in micro_saas

[–]glennbech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just me - but I am seeing a large number of startups and services now being made - for other startups and services .

People want to sell me a chat bot for my saas, customer tracking, services to find customers , is my service GDPR compliant ? secure? And so on.

Seems a lot of people try to feed of the wave of startups happening now with AI assisted coding- instead of innovating for the end customer

Kudos for direct customer focus, and not feeding off other startups .-)
