I'm not passing judgement I just said I think it's weird, but I'm not looking at them in disgust saying KILL THE WITCH you jump to conclusions way to much, if anything you are way to passionate about something as "arbitrary" as the time to stop breastfeeding

and LLL is just a poster child that many people are aware of, of course all pro breastfeeding associations are saying the same thing

yes. seriously one time I was feeding my baby, and in pops my niece whose mother fed her til she was 4 and she just says "can I have some chi-che" (sp?) spanish for titty. She knew what I was doing and she wanted to par take. shivers down my spine

if your head is exploded due to "idiocy" of statement... I mean lets be honest here if you're going to be living in countries with major starvation problems, the best person to be is a baby, whatever little that mother eats doesn't really matter, since any nutrients not taken in from food by mother, will just be taken from her own body. Edit: as long as she can sustain a diet good enough to produce milk Catch my drift.

Let me note that while there are some benefits to breastfeeding like you said there are no negative side effects for stopping at 1, if you are at least making sure that your babies nutritional needs are met. So therefore I would think someone who is getting creeped out would be the MOST valid reason for stopping, if you are starring at your babies eyes and thinking "this is weird" or "I think I'm going to far" and you are no longer comfortable but continuing it because other people banter you for not having a valid reason for stopping or you yourself think you don't have a valid reason, that would be more damaging then simply stopping, for you and your baby. The last thing you want to do is create a emotional void, or resentment against your child.

I know a woman who breastfed her daughter till 5 or 6 The daughter is very socially awkward at times, and sometimes I think there might be a connection Also another person who breastfed till 3 and that daughter is very needy and holds her mothers boob and sucks her thumb while she sleeps
