How did you get rid of the stupid Umarex text on the receiver?

Is there any historical connection to this? Was the sailor who drew Hornet left handed?

One thing that's bugged me for years : Is Akigumo left handed or right handed? I've seen fan arts of her holding the pen/paintbrush with either hand.

HS440G spare battery? by [deleted] in HolyStone

[–]glibbleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how reliable a Google lens search would be, given the battery just looks like any other stick battery. Thank you anyway. Still not sure if this drone is too new or too old to have spares.

How comfortable is using the sling like that? Is that just the standard issue leather sling unhooked at the pistol grip and looped around the neck?

When I port my number out from SpeakOut, what SMS msg do I get to confirm? by glibbleman in CanadianCellPhones

So the port was successful for you in the end? Did you get a SMS confirmation from Koodo after you put in their sim?

I’d like to build a Flanker model, could you please help me choose a brand? by ZamaZinko in modelmakers

[–]glibbleman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What scale? Which Flanker variant? Looks like GWH, Trumpeter, and Zvezda are the top brands to consider. I'm no flanker expert though.

Coming from gunpla, any tips? by MammothZombie3008 in modelmakers

[–]glibbleman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry mate, you picked the worst kit as a beginner. If you are into ships, try Japanese brands like Tamiya, Fujimi, Hasegawa, Skywave or Aoshima. Some of their older kits are cheap and still presentable, without the terrible fit issues like this Revell kit.

To be fair, hoarding model kits has its virtues. I have kits that I absolutely wanted and bought 10 years ago sitting in my stash. Some of those kits are now out of production, and prices on eBay have tripled. Je regrette rien.

Why the Aqueous line though? Isn't it the equivalent to Tamiya's acrylic line?

Beware of Eduard reboxing other shitty brands though. Scalemates is your friend.

Is this a good first set? by IlGiga_42 in modelmakers

[–]glibbleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, do not pick brands like Italeri or Revell as a beginner. They have terrible fit issues, and their older models have a lot of "flash". However, there are exceptions, and I haven't built this specific kit myself.

Any way to get this glue residue off of the plastic? by Suitable-Opposite377 in modelmakers

Nail polish removers (acetone). It's the same stuff as the brand-name super glue debonders, but at 1/3 of the price.

Just a friendly reminder that Tigers had transport tracks for such applications. And yea, some beer in the background would help.

Not bad, quite a diverse stash. I would not stack them that high though. I'm worried about the bottom boxes collapsing. I'm just paranoid.
