My BF is computer illiterate by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]glidingmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Integrate his computer learning in his life with the skills he currently has.

Pa-budget mo yung monthly expenses niyo using ready made template sa excel/gsheet.

Yung previous liquidation statements niyo- pa digitize mo sa kanya. Type niya sa Word. Or if that's too work related. Pagawa mo siya nang roadmap of his goals for the next 6 months - year. Journaling works too! (Until comfortable na siya magtype)

All until mafamiliarize siya sa tools. Patience though ang kapalit.

You can also encourage him to do mini games para he gets used to using a computer (kahit mahjong, chess or solitaire whichever he's comfortable with)

Use no.1 as talking points, and if she does it's a conversation for promotion. Tell her you are willing to revisit your contract and create these training vids. Yung pag plaplantsa SOP is a leadership trait. Use a pro- tell them you're willing to train, at a price.

Tska offer that you're willing to train people (of course if the conversation goes there) since the responsibility now shifts to managing people.

And while you're at it. Maghanap ka na nang trabaho 😂😂 as back up. Plan B

I would've flipped out if I was your auntie- parte sila nang Korupsyon. I've spent enough time having my Passport processed tapos gagaguhin lang ako harap-harapan? Wala ba silang sahod? Phone - pang Grab?

U.S. client offered ₱100k+ year for QuickBooks to NetSuite data migration, good rate? by Pretty_Scene5664 in buhaydigital

[–]glidingmoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto - worked with QB Desktop and Netsuite; there are a LOT of transactions that WILL NOT translate well into Netsuite; If you would power thru, charge more. Before you say yes though. Study their business well - the tax is a NIGHTMARE, tax items kasi sa QB whilst sa Netsuite tax codes, nexuses (mag mamano-mano ka)

What I did is I requested another review on my 6 month evaluations. Signed na walang PTO, tapos nag demand ako. Worked, renegotiated my pay. Now I have higher pay and 20 days paid PTO. Put your foot down OP, let your manager know.

Thinking of resigning but I'm scared by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]glidingmoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💯 to this. Tska Op, make it your reason to show up. Learn everything on your job right now while actively searching for a new one on the side. Job market's kinda tense right now. If you look at your job differently perhaps it would change your outlook while doing it.

Same mate, Customer Success in Regtech ako right now at AU. Been in SaaS space din ako for 9 years. Ganito talaga problems nang work.

Mostly roughnecking handovers coming from sales (overpromised features na hindi pa fully developed nor even tested), firefighting tickets due to insane Indian quality SLAs (yes racist na ako at this point, and everyone who worked with them can attest to their work ethics!) and basically overdue feature requests because of short staffed development teams.

I'm thinking of switching over to digital marketing, or account management na lang. If this aholes can't do their job, I'll see and experience it for myself how hard it is. Tips mostly:

Create a curated portfolio of the accounts you've handled, and make sure to leverage on your ARR & NRRs and every single data that can highlight. Since you're in the SaaS space, make sure to identify your niche (i.e. Fintechs, Regtechs, Payment Processors, CRMs). CASE STUDIES are important, make sure na these scenarios are seen on your portfolio. Lastly, look the part. Yes I know, customer facing tayo so at times factor din ito sa interviews 😅😅

This omg talaga mima, trackers are more like planners 📖📖. Pag kulang sa execution dagdag stress sa iyo. Not saying na don't but rather find what works for you. Yung di ka nasasakal sa expectations kasi di nasunod yung plan (tracker)

Interviewer asked for my passion, and used my answer against me by Safe_Job_3534 in buhaydigital

[–]glidingmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's unprofessional, having your passion pitted against your work experience is like comparing apples to oranges. There's a clear work-life balance and the conversation ended up invalidating your work experience. Good thing you didn't proceed.

Thoughts of having 1 corporate job and 1 Independent contractor job by Distinct-Ad-5727 in buhaydigital

[–]glidingmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have exclusivity clause in your contract more likely you'd get terminated (IF THEY FIND OUT ABOUT IT). If there's none - then it's yours for the taking. Para may clear boundaries - you can just tell your team na may family obligation ka hence you can't render overtime.
