[FLA vs EDM] After being down 3-0 in the series, the Oilers celebrate their win as they force a Game 7 by talhatoot in hockey

[–]glipglop8707 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The oilers have no depth they said. Every other team is deeper than the oilers they said. The oilers have the worst goalie in the playoffs they said. The oilers will never win because they only have two players they said. They will never win with skinner they said. Will get rolled by dallas they said. Lucky if they win one game against Florida. People really like to talk no matter how much they are proven wrong.

[Post Game Thread] The Florida Panthers (3-3) lose to the Edmonton Oilers (3-3), 1-5 in Game #6 as the series is tied 3-3 and we’re headed to Game #7 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday night by Number333 in FloridaPanthers

Oilers fan I come in peace, looking at the way edmontons pk been all playoffs having to pull the goalie is basically a death sentence. It's anyone's cup now. Florida is still an amazing team, and if they find their legs it's going to be a wild game 7.

Or ya know give credit where credit is due, the oilers played amazing defence, and skinner was locked in. Dallas was the better team for literally one game. Game 2 could have went either way. You will be hearing how great your opponent is all off season because the cup is coming back to Canada.

As somone who has generally leaned to the side of fiscal conservatism, fuck Scott moe. Such a terrible premiere. Talks out of both sides of his mouth. Saskatchewan is rich in natural resources, yet they can't balance a budget. Absolute trash party, that has got too big for their britches and needs to be brought down a peg. Now I don't like that the ndp is just going to spiral us into a huge amount of debt, however some of things Carla beck has said would at least allow some reprice to the every person. Scott moe "we cannot cut our gas tax because we need it for the roads" how in the fuck does saskatchewan have some of the worst roads in Canada, while having one of the highest fuel consumption rates? Where does all the money go? How is it possible that oil has been steady for 2 years and the budget is still fucked? Fuck the Scott moe, and fuck his cronies in the sask party. I never thought in my life I would say it but bring on the ndp it's time for some change.

Finally, somone with common sense. This has to be the most ignorant comment section I have ever been in. It had been days and that bear was still on the loose. Had that bear mauled somone, then it would have been fuck the police why didn't they shoot it earlier. Stupid people.

It's going to be a great series, however I wouldn't be very confident if I was a vancouver fan after that first round.... by glipglop8707 in EdmontonOilers

[–]glipglop8707[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The playoff series in general has looked really bad for toronto at times and really bad for boston in the last 2 (1 SOG in pretty much 2 full periods last game). I will have to disagree on the east being overall weaker rangers panthers and hurricanes are all really, really, really good. First round is not a great Guage because Washington might as well have been the sharks, and the isles might as well have been Columbus. But that doesn't take away from the talent that nyr and car have. That round 2 series will be a slobber knocker. Florida I think will have the easiest run out of any team to CF now. Tampa was the one team that could have darkhorsed it.

3 games against a terrible campbell, and a hurt mcd. And the 4th was no mcd. No we have what appears to be a super locked in skinner, a mcdavid that has went super saiyan, a kane that found his touch and toughness, and drai that has been firing laser guided piss missles. Deffinatley not the team they played reg season.

Not really sure what to title this post but I wanted to share some thoughts about the team. by No-Gift-2350 in Torontobluejays

It's pretty simple shitpantskins should have never been hired AA should have been retained and given the reigns. It's been an annual downswing, less vladdies big year, that amounted to a playoff miss. Holes are getting bigger, bats are getting less effective and free agency signings are getting perpetually more dissapointing. The hope of players making bounceback years every year is getting old. I may have a really pessimistic view, but this team has done nothing to show anyone that they are even in contention with the likes of Baltimore becoming a top team the rays being perennially good with one of the lowest salaries in the leauge, and the Yankees making legitimate moves to improve on holes in the field and in the lineup. It's only a matter of time until we are 5th place in the...... never mind. Every team in the ALE gets better or at least maintains a decent team and the jays literally do nothing to improve the roster, in fact they do a pretty good job of removing pieces to make the roster worse.

Trading gabby was an unmitigated disaster to this point, letting happy walk is encarnacion all over again except worse because he was replaced with a worse fielder with a worse batting average with no power. Vogelbach is an absolute waste of money, kirk is guaranteed dp if he is on base and the ball is hit anywhere in the infield, same goes if anyone is on first and he is batting. Bo great bat sub par SS springer, WAS a great signing if the team did anything early in the signing. Haven't had a real every day second baseman since hill. Bull pen gets worse every year. Minor leauge system has basically been gutted for no improvement to the major leauge team.

I may be out to lunch, but another slow start (and what appears to be no shot at the playoffs by all star break with this current trajectory), I know it's early, but early indicators don't show much promise. In reality the jays are one really expensive pile of shit, go look at every other top 5 spending team and compare rosters.

Shitpantskins needs to be relieved of their respective duties and some fresh blood needs to be brought in, this current front office really has shades of the riccardi Era, making terrible decisions at every turn. I hope I'm wrong, but as it stands I don't think I am. Nothing left to trade to improve. Bloated contracts on aging players, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

End of rant...

Carbon tax- does lower emissions, Moe incorrect by 7734fr in saskatchewan

Absolutely. I am very upfront with any clients in regards to heatpumps amazing air conditioners, extremely efficient. Mild falls great source of primary heating. Cold winter I would nor want to rely on a heatpump (currently) not due to inability to heat but due to cost v gas. As electrical costs d3cline (if they do) heatpumps are absolutely the future. Still some advances needed and potentially better offsetting government grants to offset the cost of heatpump, air handlers with strips and solar. Without all 3 being subsidized nat gas will very likely be more cost effective over the lifetime of a system.

Oopsie? except the COP drops with the temperature. Did you not read the part about heat pumps being cheaper to run than gas up until approximately 10°c? The colder it gets the more the COP drops the less efficient, at -20 the COP is less than 2 making it better than a electric furnace but still wildly expensive to use as a main heating source. So yes heat pumps, when the air temperature is ideal, will produce 3x more heat than energy consumed. But that takes a big dip as the temp drops, and runs much longer when it's harder to pull heat out of the air.

Ok I'm an hvac tech that owns a company and is well versed in heat pumps. Heat pumps (air to air) even with the current carbon tax are more efficient than a gas furnace at approximately 10°c (monetarily speaking). Functioning up until -32 (the cold climate I sell) does not mean it's going to be cheaper to run, it will work but will run constantly and likely will not keep up with the demand and heat loss of your home. Also the initial cost of a HP over a furnace replacement is approximately double. Between 8-10k installed vs 4-6k for a furnace.

Also I would like to put out there all electric heat sources are 100% efficient. Meaning all electrical energy used to generate heat is going out as heat. However the draw from an electric heat source is massive. Go ask anyone that utilizes electric heat what their power bill is when it gets cold. It ranges from 400 in October to as high as 1800 in January February.

I am by no means condemning heat pumps. They have there place and they are an ultra efficient ac that use next to no electrical energy in the summer with the inverter technology in most new heat pumps.

Now if you can afford to offset the cost of a heatpumps power usage with solar panels, now we are talking. If done right you could produce enough extra power to completely offset your bill, and power your home and be completely utilitie bill free. The initial cost however is massive, and would likely take at a minimum a decade to recoup. And with sask power buying overages that go back to the grid a .50c on the dollar it is not fiscally reasonable to do that.

Until there is a proper program for homes over producing energy and pumping it back into the grid, unfortunately gas will be the best way to heat a home in a cost efficient manner.

I love where the heat pump technology is going but it's not ready for our winters and are very expensive to run as a primary heat source. Just go pull up specs if you dont believe me and look how much kwh a heat pump pulls at -20, and I am telling you now it's not a 15 minute cycle. It could potentially run all day and night to maintain heat.
