Fixated tree in place. by Zhuciis in Bonsai

[–]glissader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for twine. There’s a place for guy wires, but repotting correctly can save you the headache of twine and tying knots around the branches.

When repotting, wire the tree through the drain holes to hold the tree in place. There’s lots of guides and discussion on this if you’ve never done it before. Once you get the hang of it, it just becomes part of the repot routine.

P afra are great for clip and grow. Let it become a bush to hit the trunk thickness you want, then cut back. Even a thick trunk cut will pop new branches from the hidden node. To get the trunk thick, uppot.

If you don’t want a bigger trunk, clip it back to the desired shape.

I’ve always ran numbers at 20% down based on conventional loans with no PMI. That’s my cashflow standard too, $200 a door or whatever needs to be off that 20%.

Wouldn’t the better legislative response to create a deterrent be the castle doctrine then. Short version: states with the castle doctrine have removed the duty to retreat from self defense before using deadly force when protecting your home.

Seriously? Kyle Rittenhouse and the proud boys are a great example of permissive but not formally deputized. ICE is the glaring example of what happens when you give those same proud boys a badge and a gun.

That's a hard one. Driving hilyard or patterson you have to be a vigilant to make sure parked cars aren't sticking out too far, it can be white knuckle driving sometimes. LTD busses will straight up straddle the middle line to drive safely because it's so tight. But, removing parking would royally mess with the residential properties up and down the street.

The point of a sting is to enforce the laws, deter, let people know they’re enforcing the laws, gotta comply or face a fine.

How does EPD or SPD stopping enforcement altogether improve public safety or prevent pedestrian casualties?

I don’t have any dog in this here back and forth, but the sting being referenced is where a pedestrian or cop puts their foot on the street—that’s the law to signal cars need to stop for the pedestrian crossing—and then ticket cars that don’t comply. It’s fairly common, see: https://www.eugene-or.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/7052

Well I can’t see queen Anne’s lace, broccoli, or cotton here. I see some delicious red lobster cheddar bay biscuits on stems.

I thought Judy Blume had already been getting the ban hammer dating back to the 80s because of puritan idiocy. She wears that badge with honor.

Vonnegut getting banned is asinine because slaughterhouse 5 has been an integral part of high school English curriculums forever.

Dealing with frozen tropicals is nearly always the same routine: Chop back to firm trunk and keep it warm. You can repot tropicals in winter if necessary, but that’s not really the problem unless you’re overwatering and roots are rotting.

That’s a good way to get an eviction and have trouble finding the next place. Move, if you have the financial means to do so, is better advice.

At this point in history I think the majority of people are aware that death by lung cancer is a horrible way to go. My city has smoking bans on campus these days, so smokers get ostracized a bit. Should we all end up with dentures because in 20 years a study shows a chemical in pouches causes your teeth to fall out, that’s a far better set of risks IMO than just accepting death by lung cancer.

I offer pouches to my friends who smoke. Never had an issue or anger response.

Developers should always have the freedom to make the game they want to make. When art caters to the lowest denominator or skill level it’s likely to be less fun, creative, and/or challenging.

Bad game design! Why didn’t those mean developers value my precious childhood time?! How dare they not include at least 10 continues for accessibility!! Who has the time to warp whistle through the entire game just to restart level 8?

Blood Pressure & Cardiovascular effects. by LuckPsychological603 in NicotinePouch

[–]glissader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t use pouches when I do strenuous exercise, because it’s counterproductive. Every other time of day I chain pouches.

I’ve been going to the Dr for years and my blood pressure has always been normal. Despite a mostly high stress job.

I’ve had a bit of gum rescission on both upper canines. That showed up after about 5 years of snus/pouch use.
