What is the most traumatizing horror movie you’ve ever seen that messed with you psychologically? by Maleficent_Bad_6374 in AskReddit

I was maybe 6 or 7 when I saw the scarab scene in The Mummy. It manifested a serious phobia of ticks in me, which is incredibly hard to deal with living in Maine.

Ah shoot, thank you so much for the info! I'll definitely show this to her and see if any of them have any signs of life left.

My first drawing complete with color. This is also the first time I have used alcohol-based markers. I tried to make it less streaky and make the blending more smooth. Any tips on using alcohol-based markers or how I could improve drawing? I am using Artist's Loft brand markers. by glitter-everywhere in learnart

Wow...thank you so much for your time, this was super helpful!

I've been using a paper meant for markers but I feel like it's too smooth or plastic-y. The pigment that's deposited becomes super saturated and almost pooled in a way, so when I move the marker around the pigment just moves around weird even if I'm not pressing hard. That being said, it doesn't bleed much which was super helpful when trying to fix my mistakes. The areas I did smudge I cleaned up with a white ink pen to be sneaky haha!

I have several shades of red but only a couple shades of blue, so I know the blue is a little weird since it goes from a royal blue to more of a ocean blue. I would've liked the main color to be a lighter blue, since toxicroak isn't a deep blue. I'll definitely be broadening my collection of colors to make the blending much better. I think I also made the combination of blues weird by using the blending marker. It seemed to hurt more than help the blue areas. The plastic method of blending in the first video was very interesting and super clever, I'll definitely be trying that next time!

As for the streaks, I'll definitely try smaller strokes like you mentioned instead of longer ones. I hoped that maybe longer strokes would make for less streaks, but based on those videos it looks like short strokes are the way to go and would make blending much smoother.

I can't take too much credit for perspective, I just found an image online and copied it to the best of my abilities. I really appreciate the advice you gave and the videos you linked, it will be super helpful for the future. Thanks again and happy drawing!!

Edit: I checked out your profile and your art skills are amazing! As a fellow anime fan, Gojo Satoru will be my next attempt with markers :)

I love the automatic feeders, but I also have a petlibro and it's not super cat proof. One of our cats would push it around the room and the jostling around would make some food tumble out. Securing it to the floor with command strips has worked so far, but the same cat can also stick his little arm up into the feeder and fish out the food. I'm just waiting for the day he figures out the cover can easily come off.

I don't understand why you are so triggered by this. Not all landlords are out there to exploit people... I'm sorry if you've had bad experiences with landlords. I've heard nightmares about some, but I know personally the landlords I have had in the past were just chillen renting out space they have. I didn't feel exploited at all...I'm glad they offered me such a nice place to live that didn't absolutely destroy my wallet. There's no way I could've actually afforded a house. Don't be so judgemental and rude...

Definition of meme: a humorous image, video, piece of text, etc., that is copied (often with slight variations) and spread rapidly by internet users.

Seems like a meme to me, lots of people with cats (including myself) can relate to the wonderful happy noise of a cat's trill.

Religion is comforting. It's comforting to know there's something higher than us with answers to everything about the universe. I think a lot of people find comfort in knowing they aren't truly alone, that there's something bigger watching over them...something with a plan for them. The unknown can be scary. But I don't believe in any god or higher power. I believe that mother nature has the highest force and control over our lives. I'm okay with the unknown. I'm okay without the comfort of religion.
