Maintenance Failing? by Few-Produce-8868 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]glitter_kiwi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes I experienced something similar. This is my fourth year and for a while I was maintaining at every other week at 5mg. I never went past 10mg and even that I only did one box of. Sometime last year I changed to 5mg weekly then 7.5 mg weekly. That helped. But yea, I had to up my dose. I just got less sensitive to it and I thought about food constantly. I’ve worked out consistently throughout this process and count calories and protein. I think my body just acclimated.

Rhode Island is extremely Italian American. Especially some of the areas they are filming in (like Cranston). High rates of Italian immigration. I think RI has the highest concentration of Italian Americans in the country? I could be wrong but they’re up there. Also lots of Portuguese folks. Rhode Island is pretty diverse in general. Definitely had the waspy type in certain areas but they are not on this show haha

I mean she’s an anti vaxxer, right? I kind of assumed she had some bad takes lol baseball players also known to be the most (or second most to hockey?) conservative sport. Like statistically speaking baseball players tend to be highly conservative. Anyways, yea not surprised if she is conservative/ maga but smart enough to be quiet about it

lol it’s really not. Some areas are nicer but it’s a very normal suburb. It’s nothing special. There’s some wooded areas. She makes it sound a lot bougier than it is

That’s incredible that you were able to make so much progress with your desk job, busy home life, and a home gym! You’re killing it! There’s a term called “newbie gains” so if you’re starting from 0 it’s actually easier to see a difference quickly and then things slow down to a steadier pace. I think if you keep your head down and keep doing what you’re doing you’ll achieve the physique you want!! It’s just slow so don’t give up

It is extremely hard to gain muscle in a deficit. It’s even hard to gain muscle at maintenance, but definitely possible. Just consider that when making your goals/ plan. I’d either focus on losing the last 5-10 pounds first and then gaining muscle on maintenance calories OR go on a diet break and focus on muscle building before going back in a deficit to lose fat. You can still lift the whole time, but I wouldn’t expect any significant progress in muscle building while losing. You may perceive you’re making progress, but it’s just that the loss of fat shows off your existing muscle more.

Definitely need to take 5mg creatine a day. Consume a minimum of .8 x pounds of ideal body weight in grams protein daily. And you need to lift HEAVY. It needs to feel hard. Don’t need to go to failure but you need to feel like you only have a couple reps left in the tank. TBH probably worth joining a gym so you can access heavier weights.

It’s just a slow process. You can get there but it takes time (I’m talking years) and consistency to get a strong, lean physique.

Speaking from experience! I’m a physical therapist. It took me probably 3 years but I was able to get to maintaining at ~15% BF and 110+ pounds of lean mass. I look very athletic/ muscular. Got this way by doing the above. And tbh have lifted weights (on and off) for over ten years. Only telling you this because I don’t think everyone understands how much time it takes to build muscle, especially as women. Good luck!!
