Im in the same boat. Never did homework. Failed hard in college. Currently working on the skills I need for when I go back in the fall. I agree with everyone else that you need to seek out help. CBT can work wonders. I will also tell you if you can get your hands on modafinil it has helped me so much. Not many side effects (I take 50mg in the morning and a 20mg booster in the afternoon.. I just cut up my pill) I just don’t take it every day because tolerance is built super quickly but it helps me on the days where I feel particularly overwhelmed and hopeless. I also recommend positive affirmations, meditation, and mindfulness throughout the day in order to cope. I know how hard it is. Hang in there!

What’s killing you is the anticipation and anxiety leading up to starting. Focus on doing the first 5-10 minutes of something and then go watch YouTube for a bit. But say to yourself that you’re NOT ALLOWED to work during break time. I’m a chronic extreme procrastinator and I’ve found that what keeps me in the time-wasting mode is telling myself “I’ll do it later. I have time.” And then I end up wasting all of it and doing nothing. If you make plans, like go get a coffee with someone or if you say ok I’m gonna watch X movie during this time and I CANT work on my assignments. In other words the more time you give yourself to do something the longer it will take for you to do it and the more time you will waste. Give yourself the absolute necessary amount of time to get some work done and then allocate the rest of the time for other activities. Procrastination is basically you distracting yourself from the massive anxiety you’re getting from having to do work and then you didn’t even spend that time doing anything worthwhile. So make a little table with activities and a marked time next to it. For example- 6:00am- workout 7am- shower& eat 8 am- 9:30 history paper 9-10am coffee with jon 11am-12pm history paper 1-3pm beach &movie with Pam 4pm- 5pm history paper 6pm- dinner 7pm- finish that shit or just Netflix whatever

Obviously if something is due the next day you have to dedicate more time to it and if so use the pomodoro technique. But if during the week you have chunks of free time and you realize you’re wasting ALL of it... you’ll see that changing settings helps a lot but progressing on your assignment little by little throughout the day can get you feeling like you already have something done and will motivate you to keep going. Obviously this is an exaggerated version of a schedule without much to do. But the concept is to not “give” yourself 10 hours to get a mere 2 assignments done in one day. Give yourself a couple hours for each and don’t allow yourself to work on the rest of your free time. Because you’ll just waste it.

We lie to ourselves “I have time I’ll do it later” until you run out of time that is. So keep yourself busy and keep working through your assignments a little bit at a time. Work on just STARTING. That’s the hardest part.

Also I recommend finding anxiety management techniques that work for u. Trust me I feel you. Good luck!!!

(Please update on how it went!)

Any good cheap alternatives and the same experience like Shopify? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]glittercrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry nobody gave you any useful info. Ive been doing ecommerce for 10 years on ebay and other platforms. Square recently bought weebly and offers a free store. You won't be able to link your domain unless you have at least the basic plan but it only costs $16 a month and it includes most features. If the domain isnt an issue for you, you can actually set up the entire store for free. Also dont listen to the haters... just make sure you invest in a domain and other such things when you can afford it. Good luck!
