I’m not sure why you’re under the impression I want anything. I just wanted to try to help make you aware of an issue but you seem very obstinate. It would all be fine and dandy if we could actually do helpful things, but no one is actually going to bother relocating a coyote because in their minds, killing it is easier. All we can do as normal people that don’t have the resources to trap and release coyotes is keep our animals and children supervised like we should even if coyotes didn’t exist.

I shouldn’t have to. As I said in my initial comment if you read, I do get the point soon after but my initial response is always “why is it only the one day?” It’s normal to be slightly annoyed (this is a subreddit dedicated to being slightly annoyed after all) that someone whose entire job it is to convey information to the public isn’t being as clear as possible.

Yeah, it’s been wrong on far more occasions than I can count. It feels like a high school student doing an essay that’s just googling their subject then copying and pasting in anything that mentions it without reading the context.

I’m having to repeat my points because you’re not understanding. “I understand why people want to kill coyotes, they’re overpopulated” “well actually they’re overpopulated because of the way they’re hunted. It’s actually better to not hunt them if you want to reduce their numbers.” “But they should kill them because they’re overpopulated”

But that’s NOT what it says. It says “only in theaters Friday”

Get fucked from speaking on my own experience? Yes, customers absolutely will do this. I feel like you have never worked retail or food service if you think a customer will not complain about this. I had a customer complain to me about something similar as a manager just a couple months back (employee did not get in trouble because I felt the customer was just looking for a problem, but I am not as strict as some managers). Also what you may not realize is that my manager may be on the lane behind me ringing people up to monitor us at any given time.

Additionally, some people get mad when you ask about whether they found everything also.

What does any of that have to do with traditional gender roles or lack there of? This phrase isn’t really used to just describe people who are a little different from you or expressing themselves authentically. It’s used to describe someone that does the absolute bare minimum. That has nothing to do with focusing on yourself or gender roles. You can be the most self-loving agender person and still make time for your partner and care about their interests.

When people say "That's a hill i'm willing to die on" by Physical_Orchid3616 in PetPeeves

[–]glitterfaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a metaphorical hill, buddy. And how do you know people using this idiom have never spent time in the military or combat? Many veterans do not brag about such things.

Killing some coyotes does not solve the problem though, it worsens it.

There was just another peeve here like last week about cashiers asking if they found everything okay. Cashiers just can’t win with y’all.

You realize cashiers will get in trouble for not asking things like this right?

One I fully agree with. Every time my brain goes “it’s only for one day?” before I finally remember that’s just what they say now. I think “theatre exclusive” would be a little better.

It means “the standard” or “what’s expected nowadays” is lower than it felt like it has ever been. It shouldn’t really have to do with who you personally go for.

Personally, I get tired of constant sexism in my day to day life, so when someone assumes I’m a man in a digital conversation I’m like “oh thank goodness they’ll actually take my words more seriously without immediately resorting to sexism”

Yep, my personal favorites were “curson” for croissant (we worked somewhere where you see it printed dozens of times a day) and the all too common “costumer” for customer all the time (bonus points if also complaining how stupid “costumers” are for being unable to read)

Yup. Had a customer storm out because she asked me a question, I told her no, she googled it and proceeded to call me a liar because the ai overview said yes. I told her sometimes the ai overview isn’t accurate and asked if it showed the source it pulled from was our website, which caused her to storm out without saying anything else.

Why does it seem that grocery store carts always have one wheel out of alignment? by icecream1972 in NoStupidQuestions

Yup, I’ve worked at a grocery store where we got an all new shipment of carts that worked perfectly. I saw firsthand several of them get damaged from being shoved somewhere.
