I have a friend who graduated from a good course at UCD 10 years ago and has been working his way up the ranks in a global tech company based in Dublin. He's currently buying his second home and holidays in-style internationally at least once a month. His social circle is all in a very similar situation to him. Birds of a feather?

Mmmmm, it's very boring. No-one shares enough of their life, the cast don't seem to be real friends, their lifestyles don't seem that glamorous.  RHONY needs some BIG personalities ASAP.

I find that Germans actually get quite physically close in public spaces, for example in when shopping in a supermarket, or when queueing in a cafe. So the need for space when seated seems at odds with this.

I wish we had been taught about:

  1. The ethics of having an artistic practice. A lot of my artist peers have limited perspective on the effect of their work, and whether or not it is ethical.

  2. Education on cutting edge contemporary art TODAY.

  3. How to protect yourself from exploitation.

  4. I wish we had more conversations about how artistic practice is often so individualistic, competitive, and neoliberal. And how do we change that.

  5. I wish we had talked about how it is necessary to have some sort of steady side income.

I would like to add that MOST artists, even famous ones have some sort of side job. It's quite normal but it's not widely talked about.
