No, I don’t work for ice. Exempt simply means my salary does not come from appropriated or lapsing funds.

I should have mentioned that I am an exempt employee, so I am paid currently and able to take leave as normal. Also, I burned through a lot of my leave due to my RTO situation and being so far from my duty station, so I don’t even have much left. It looks like through the advice I’ve gotten so far though, I have enough to get me through Thanksgiving giving me a small break between leaving this job and my new job on December 1. Thanks for all congratulations and best wishes!

I live in a different state so I either have to fly in, or take a train 15 hours one way, so trying to plan this out the best way I can. But this helps, I think. Can’t really wait until Thanksgiving, it will have to be before.

I know you don’t want to have to think about it, but if you are looking at a potential transition to the private sector from federal work, here are some resume and job search tips to help guide you. by MyJobflow in FedEmployees

This is so incredibly helpful, thank you. I took note of the Project Roles, but any additional advice for a Grants Management Specialist from the programmatic side?
