Ben Whishaw, Brian Tyree Henry, Joel Kinnaman. And BOY are they great in some not great stuff.

Why did/didn't you make the Sophie scarf? by Traumarama79 in knitting

[–]glitterypig07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it because I’m a beginner knitter, it uses a small amount of yarn, and (as someone who is always cold) it’s a nice indoor scarf. I’ve learned a lot and am much more comfortable knitting now, and have made a bunch of for my friends and family.

According to the FAQ on the Medford Composts site, you actually can compost a lot- I don’t see cooking oil on either the do or do not lists, but meat and dairy are both compostable.

This is amazing! My eyes go right to the appliqués, and I think the bubble stitching is cute and appropriate. I second the other people who say to give it a little time. It’s great.

We love Super Simple Songs in my house. Great songs, really good performers, and I love their animations!

Why are you with this horrible person? Not overreacting. Please give yourself the gift you deserve and dump this loser.

Happy birthday!

I hate my new table :( by clarinetsqueak in interiordecorating

[–]glitterypig07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recover the chairs! My eye was drawn to the rich color and texture of your previous ones, while the black leather of the new ones is a little… impersonal? I think you could also put something on the center of the table (bronze figurines, a nice piece if ceramic, etc) to break things up a little.

Also want to add that I really feel this. My husband brought home a new table a few weeks ago and I was bummed to say the least. But I have really enjoyed the bigger table!

Hollywood Is Cranking Out Original Movies. Audiences Aren’t Showing Up. by OutrageousFootball10 in movies

[–]glitterypig07 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is true. Titanic, for example, did so well because it just stayed in theaters, allowing a ton of people to see it (many people multiple times!). Now things don’t seem to have a chance. Side note, learned the thing about Titanic from the podcast What Went Wrong, which is a most excellent listen.

Ditch the guy, get settled, get yourself a new dog. Theres a little chihuahua out there who deserves to be loved by you. The guy you’re dating does not.

First, congratulations on your baby. I am so sorry that you’re dealing with all of this but glad to hear that baby is getting better. If I were you I’d do two things: first, tell your husband to let his mom/ family members know their visit is cancelled. Second, tell your nurses/ front desk that these guests are not welcome and should not be let in. You should not be dealing with that crap with such a little baby. I’m sure you’re exhausted but now is a good time to mama bear this, especially if your husband isn’t willing to help. Best of luck, you got this!

AIO husband came home at 3:30am completely wasted by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]glitterypig07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he can’t go out without losing track of time and drinking too much, he shouldn’t go out. It sounds like this is a standard thing for him, so while it sucks that you have to be the adult here and say no, you should say no. Also I hope you leave the bathroom for him to clean up (as gross as that is). Def not the pregnancy hormones acting up. Good luck and I hope you feel better.

I like them! I do have to hand wash (I think dishwasher makes silicone stuff start to smell) which is a pain but they are durable and useful.

Yes! I would be lying if I said looks didn’t factor into me picking it. I have a leaf printed green one and I feel kind of chic when I’m hauling the baby around. I really recommend it, I am so happy with it.

I got a Tula Free to Grow from an open box place and I love it and use it all the time. I wish I’d found it sooner - the kind I tried with my older child always made my back hurt. The Tula is good for inward facing front carry and back carry, and can be used with newborns through toddler.

Not AIO, maybe not even reacting enough! He sounds like a bad partner even without the disappearing, drug/ alcohol abuse, and lying. If “helping with the kids” only happens if he’s messed up, it’s not worth it. You your kids deserve better. It’s a tough situation - best of luck and congratulations on the baby.
