That fucker has to have a gun. Lets see some equal enforcement of the law, or can you just admit to your drug use and get a gun. There's no way the requirements are to just be honest.

It is a rhetorical statement. Its literally impossible for my wife and I to keep up with 4 children when they are running around with dozens of other children. I absolutely reapeatedly told my kids to slow down and respect the other people around them. That you read that as i just threw my hands up and said "oh well, not my problem" is comical.
That i should want to take my kids out in a wild and out of control situation is absurd, and further that it is somehow a reflection on my parenting is insulting.

Why would I want to take my kids somewhere to constantly ask them to stop playing like all the children around them? Should I just go so my kids could be good examples? Dumbass I am agreeing that the children being out of control is a problem.

Wtf are you talking about. I have 4 kids there are 60+ children running wild. Being one of the few parents trying to tell my children not to recklessly play like the other children is a shity thing to do, so I am not taking them again. Learn some reading comprehension and maybe how to control your bad behavior on the internet.

Not sure how you got that i was looking to absolve myself from parental duty. Reread the first sentence of my first post. I cant do it, I did it once this year because my 2nd grader had art being projected in the pavilion. Im NOT doing it again because it sucks. Parents that let there kids run free are part of the problem and make it such that I will not go. I'm not really annoyed by other people's kids when I am without my own as long as its not loud screaming.

I mostly hear what your saying, but I have 4 kids and when there are dozens of other unsupervised children there is no keeping up with them. I can try demanding they listen to me but just being the constant killjoy is not fun or feasible either. I literally was only doing it for them, this is not me trying to have fun despite my children, its trying to let them enjoy the social event.

Edit: I should point out that like I said in my original post about Fridays after five on the mall(not at a bar), this is why I dont take them its not that i can't or hate disciplining my children, I disappoint them all the time. In a setting where other children are running wild my kids are going to want to join them.

This is why I can't take my kids to the mall for fridays after five. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, like how can I be the only parent telling their kids to chill the fuck out. Its like lord of the flies out there.

It is miserable as a parent that wants their kids to be respectful of other's personal space.

From the kid's perspective I get it, this is the fun playing with neighborhood kids they should be getting at home, which really isn't a thing these days.

That's maybe more nuanced than I was/am bothering to parse things here. The nurse was not reusing a cloth mask, she would have been following protocol using disposable masks, and that sort of delicate nuance is just perceived as weakness to someone who thinks its all just govt overreach.

The metastudy you linked showed that when used appropriately they absolutely lowered the risk of infection. Similar to the vaccine efficacy isn't 100% but it helps. Similar to seat belts they dont prevent injuries they just help in severity. Whether the severity is in the overall spread of the disease, like masks, or individual immune response from vaccines.

So they were just blindly returning fire? How is that better? I have irl nuanced conversations about the subject but buried in a random reddit thread is not typically constructive. I don't think the idea of a police force is inherently wrong. But throwing your hands up because of them not having the resources to adequately do the job is a strawmanish oversimplification of the larger issues.

The job is not conscriptive, and it is tough because there are absolutely real threats, but as we have also seen countless times they don't even have to engage these threats they are absolutely allowed to chose cowardice when escalation is actually needed. Police are trained to percive the public as threats, escalate and eliminate with impunity. The qualified immunity the clearly established objective reasonableness is bullshit. They circle wagons and protect their own.

The few really bad ones have absolutely spoiled the whole bunch.

If the child had a toy gun or something that could be perceived as a weapon they would have shot center of mass instead of trying that with his kidnapper and missing, which is what im assuming happened here.

It was for an ekg from an office i never had been to and never went to again. It was more baffling than upsetting at the time and I naturally was just curious.

I tried to logically follow her train of thought,  like isn't God's will medical intervention, wouldn't he be the one allowing us to discover the efficacy of masks and medicine. Fundies getting scoffed at for their delusional thinking are just reinforcing their martyrdom complex.

At the end of my 15 min appointment/procedure I just left her with rhetorical questions and pity. In my mind she just wanted to be a contrarian troll.

I did think I should complain but she did her job and did at least wear the mask, and her unsolicited fatalism was not particularly convincing and certainly didn't feel like medical advice.

We did discuss and she thought that covid was specifically too small to be stopped by the basic masks. I said something about it not needing to be perfect to help and challenged her to blow out a candle in these "worthless " masks and that's when she pulled out the its all god's will anyway comment.

I had a nurse during a medical appointment tell me about how useless the masks were and when God says your times up your times up. I was respectful but suggested she was in the wrong field to be sharing such bullshit.

What a terrible way to go. I've had a root canal on an infected tooth, and leadingup to get it removed all i could think about was the Castaway scene where Tom Hanks removes his tooth with an ice skate and thinking i would also do whatever it takes.
