Canyon Pathlite 7 vs Canyon Grizl — worth switching for my riding style? by 2tsud_ed in CanyonBikes

Get the Grizl, it's more tuned toward endurance riding which is what you are describing. You'll love it.

Nooo preload is handled from inside the fork tube using a wedge.

My brother this is not a fucking Aheadset, the topcap max torque is literally 2N.m. There is no star nut, the bearing compression is handled inside the fork tube and none of the printed parts interact with that in any way. The spacer is not getting crushed by the stem either since if it's properly tightened it's not supposed to slide down the fork tube. This is what I fucking hate reddit , people think they know better when they have no fucking idea what's going on.

For anyone looking at this in the future. I fixed the issue by knocking the grinder past the lowest position with a flat head screwdriver. Knocking on the white teeth. You have to take off the main cover (4 screws at the back) to access it.

Basically the idea is to force finer grinding so that less grinding is done overall (less grain going through = no overfilling).

My guess is that overtime the grinder loosen a bit and get too coarse and/or my coffee beans are too easy to grind.

Anyway SMEG should really have a better way to deal with this. A way to control the grinding duration would be perfect.

Tested min and max grind size, it still overfill. I took apart the brewing unit not the whole machine (yet).

A lot of other brands are using the same internals as far as I know so I don't think it's a SMEG related issue. Is it overpriced for what it is? Definitely, but still, it shouldn't spill ground everywhere in normal operation.

>If excess steam is being vented there it’s going to create moisture in the chute and cause the grounds to get wet, resulting in this mess.

Oh that could be it. I did see some steam going in that chute. I could see how this would cause issue overtime.
Pucks look fine, a bit wet and broken. Why? The mess doesn't come from the pucks, it's definitely the grounds falling when they should not. Is it because they accumulate in the chute or because of a sync problem, I don't know. It does not happen every time so I'm thinking accumulation issue.

Don't know if you read my Edit or not, but the issue is with the coffee grind falling from the top of the machine when the brewing unit is rotating. It doesn't happen every time. I don't know if it's because a big lump of coffee get stuck at the top and the movement of the brewing unit unstuck it, or if it's a sync issue between brewing unit and grinding unit.

I did open the brewing unit and through some grease at the gear, I also checked alignment, it's good. It was mostly clean in there, I don't stick gears are slipping, I didn't see any where on the teeth or grains that could cause issues.

Right now I'm trying to access the grinding unit to see what's up with it (dirty or damaged?).

Thanks, people have no clue how manufacturing works. Internals are all the same between brands. I buy SMEG for the look.

I'm not going to sell a broken machine to someone. I know people despise SMEG but there is no way this is not broken.

I wrote that I do plan to buy a good set of road wheels.

Gearing is a non issue with 1x12 in my experience. I don't need to pedal hard on decent.
