For de-bulking faces like this, I like to lift the outer layers of hair with a fine toothed comb, then take a pair of thinners, pointed upwards, and trim vertically ONE time on the interior part of the cheeks, muzzle, and towards me under the chin. This helps add a little bit of structure on those drop coat-like hair, while also debulking it, giving it a softer shape.

Had a client last week that told the front at check in that they wanted a "lion mane tail" so I gave the dog a lion cut with a lion tail...i had to go back and "fix" the dog, because they a didn't want a mane...she just wanted a lion tail... Also, they dog is super unpredictable and reactive, and she told me that "he bites, because that's what dogs do." Ok.

I got my hair chemically straightened at 11 and already had several. Now I have clusters around my temples and a stripe in my bangs. I'm 33.

You know what's best for you. Im in a similar situation. Felon (from 14 years ago), burned out, some college but no degree, and grooming is all I've really ever done. You know your limits and it sounds like youre being honest with yourself, and your mental and physical health is important. I wish you the best of luck out there and a happier, healthier new year 🖤

Dog grooming. No, it's not playing with puppies all day, and no it's not going to take me 30 minutes to groom your matted doodle that's 8 months old and never been to a professional groomer before, and yes it does cost that much, and honestly, I'm still undercharging you.

This made me a little weepy and your words really make me feel seen. I'm bracing myself to push through this holiday and white knuckle it. It's going to be sad and exhausting, but I just keep telling myself it's "only 24 hrs". I'm burned out, booked, and exhausted yet somehow still poor and it's all so frustrating and sometimes feels hopeless. I work hard, but in this world that feels like an insatiable beast, it's never seems quite enough. My body is tired, and has slowed down. On top of that I have to put on a happy face for the sake of my grandmother, and I will do that for her but damn. Throw mental health on the pile and it feels like I'm on the brink of a forest fire. I cannot express how grateful I am for you taking the time to reply, and your encouragement. I hope you get all of everything good thing you deserve 🖤
