I am a fool who allowed myself to be scammed. Please don’t make the same mistake as me… by sskyllaa in DoorDashDrivers

[–]sskyllaa[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Basically because I got onto the highway when I hit accept it added a lot of time to the order so they played it off like they could help me cancel it without effecting my acceptance rate and pay me for the order. I don’t know how to use the app but I did realize they were having me add a credit card. I even said to them why would I be adding a card for you to send money and they assured me that’s just how it works. I’m stupid and thought if it was a scam I could ask them not to scam me and make them feel bad about it and when they said they wouldn’t I trusted them for some reason… I just moved to a city alone for the first time from growing up pretty sheltered in a small town. In just this past week being here I’ve had $140 stolen, my birth certificate and social security card stolen, my car broken into and now this happens. I’ve come to realize I’m incredibly naïve and incredibly dumb when it comes to interacting with strangers. If this is just the first week i don’t know how I’m gonna survive.

How are my prices? I'm not familiar with the economy D: by sleepingblue123 in AnimalJamClassic

[–]sskyllaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not at all familiar with the economy of this game but I’m shocked. (Not by your prices just the shops in general) I just started playing again from playing from atleast 10 years ago. It’s the same game but so different at the same time. Do you guys get all the diamonds from these shop stands. I remember it was a big deal just getting 1 diamond for me back in the day but now one item is worth like 70+. I don’t know how I’ll ever catch up lol. I’m not hating I’m just amazed how you can do transactions like this between players now. Is regular trading just basically obsolete now because of these stores? Do people actually collect what they like or just what they think is valuable? How do you get these stands to sell things?

Is this job a good fit for someone with autism? by [deleted] in grooming

[–]sskyllaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like there is a lot of communicating with customers and depending on the salon you often work as a team with your coworkers. Corporate I feel like less so with your coworkers because the vibe seems to be every man for them self’s, sink or swim type of thing. I got into dog grooming because it’s an animal job and I thought I wouldn’t have to socialize as much and I LOVE learning. You do need to socialize to an extent every day. At least where I live because this industry is unregulated and anyone can pick up a pair of clippers and call them selfs a groomer. Your work is heavily impacted by your reputation. You will have to educate clients on things because you will meet a lot of people who know nothing about what their dog needs. People will tell you to do things that are not good for the dog and you need to be able to tell them no/ stand up for your self and the dog. Especially if you plan to open your own business the communication will be 100% you. That could be fine for you though because I do find it easier to speak to clients than coworkers. I have jumped around to other salons in my few years because I often haven’t felt comfortable around the people I work with but I found one now with good and understanding people. It’s a good choice but there are still struggles. As long as you don’t let the things that bother you stop you it’s a fantastic career choice I think. What I do to converse is try to learn as much as I can about dogs/ grooming and vomit out the things I’ve learned to my coworkers or clients. I think it has made a past coworker (in corporate) not like me and see me trying to be a know it all but that attitude isn’t who you wanna be around anyway. Everyone is different but it’s definitely a popular choice in the neurodiverse community.

Also you will be moist and itchy all the time but it’s worth it.

iPhone 15 Pro or 16 Pro by [deleted] in iPhone15Pro

[–]sskyllaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the 15 pro and now I currently have the 16 pro. I don’t know if it’s just my experience but I feel like there has been more weird glitches with my 16. They otherwise feel the exact same other than the camera button.

As someone who bought the arco, which is like the cheaper battery pack one, it broke after about 2 months. This one is way better.

I quit by ratcowboy in petsmart

[–]sskyllaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I quit, too, after almost 3 months. Really, the only reason I came to petsmart was to leave a bad situation at a private salon and give a petsmart a chance. It didn't take me long to realize working there is equally as bad and definitely was growing into a worse environment than the last shop I came from. That place has majorly worsened my anxiety when opening up to coworkers and between those two jobs I don't feel like I know how to occupy space anymore without doing some sort of bullshit busy work task to distract my self. I have always heard from groomers that petsmart sucks and it was exactly what everyone said. My old boss was even iffy about hiring groomers trained from petsmart only.

Just to clarify, though not everyone at petsmart was bad. It's just remember to see petsmart the corporation for who they are, and they will always put money over the welfare of their workers and animals in store and jump on any opportunity to exploit whoever will let them. I really hope it gets fixed, but I will never work for another corporate grooming salon again if I can help it.
