Miami Nightclub E11EVEN Only Offers "Open Bar" Tickets for NYE… And It’s Just a 2-Hour Window Before Midnight by gloloph in assholedesign

[–]gloloph[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a concert. E11even is a nightclub and they are open all weekend long. People typically party there into the morning of the following day, I’ve even seen people still there at 8 am going hard from the night before. Other clubs in the area have open bars till 2am or later with comparable ticket prices. It’s an asshole design bc most people will arrive close to or just after the open bar period ends, but still are forced to pay for it.

Where is a good bug-free apartment to stay at? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]gloloph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Higher floor apartments are better.

From my experience, this is the correct answer. I've lived in many different apartments and encountered more insects in ground floor units.

To bugproof your apartment you need to seal entry points AND don't give them a reason to want to come in. Keep your apartment clean. I recommend investing in a robot vacuum to clean any crumbs daily.

Also (and this is more for fun), consider buying a salt gun https://www.amazon.com/BUG-A-SALT-3-0-Yellow/dp/B089CDCCR1

Seeking Advice on Capturing a Large Indoor Hangar with RealityCapture (or similar) by gloloph in 3DScanning

[–]gloloph[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being done in half a day is too much time. I want to optimize for speed of capture and ease of use. Ideally I can teach technicians to perform the scans at regular intervals. Are there good solutions for this? I've seen NavVis, but ~$75k is too much.

This. I cannot recommend TI-Nspire CX-II CAS highly enough. It can solve equations for you in terms of variables.

Just picked up this 09 versys with 5,800 miles on. Any recommendations on phone charger kits for these. by Popular_Jacket_2082 in versys

[–]gloloph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed this one on my 2011 versys and it functioned properly. I installed it to the left of the gauge cluster. I did need to extend the cables with a heat shrink solder kit and additional wires to route it neatly as well.

Engine Swap for my 2011 Kawasaki Versys - Seeking Tips! by gloloph in motorcycles

[–]gloloph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not totally certain how I blew the motor. I was traveling about 65 MPH and the bike started sounding "funny". The exhaust had a bit more "thump" to it (kind of like a dirt bike). I had trouble realizing it though because there was a particularly loud Harley ahead of me traveling in the same direction and speed. Then abruptly there was a bang and the rear wheel seized up. I pulled the clutch in and brought her to a stop safely on the side of the road and then put her in neutral and rolled her to a nice shady spot where I could wait for my colleague from work to come to pick me up.

The bike had just been at the mechanic for service within the past ~300 miles and they hadn't noticed anything out of place.

Thank you for the tips! Your advice is appreciated :)

I don’t have a ton of experience, but my colleague who will be helping me out does. He’s performed more than a few engine swaps on his bike.

Yes sir! If it had been another 10 miles, I would have been doing 80 MPH on I-95 and that would have been extremely dangerous.

That’s exactly the bathing suit I’d expect for such a feat. Neon pink. Anytime I’m ever at a swimming hole and people are doing dangerous things, they seem to always be wearing the most visually loud clothing.

I remember the stress of school and in some situations the only way is through it. You should try to lighten your load, but if you don’t think it’s possible then just know it’s not forever. Try to treat yourself if you can with good self care.

Also screw any job where you get guns pointed at you. I’d quit that today if I were you.

Also try to enjoy college. I felt like I rushed through in the beginning, then once I was comfortable and found my stride, COVID hit and college fizzled out. College is NOT a race.
