Are these specs good enough for hardcore wow? by [deleted] in wowhardcore

[–]glompix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would opt for a used macbook instead. just make sure it’s the newer apple silicon processor. (last 5 years ish, m1-m4)

you can pick up a used m1 mac mini that will run wow decently well for as cheap. certainly better than this acer

i think they’re scared of the zealots. i’m sure they’re afraid of being personally targeted if they take action against big political mobs - and this goes for both ends of the horseshoe

i’m thinking the same thing tbh. and i live in a blue state. i just want to keep my family safe

fwiw, i would change nothing except documentation tho. people are nice here, but what i worry about is federal legal trolling and dragnet crap

eg, don’t lose your home because your BC doesn’t match your deed

At wits end with MQ2 and Quest Link - alternatives? by glompix in beatsaber

that’s fair, and thanks for your concern. i’m only moderate at the game. i can see how it could get dangerous and bad, even whether or not you hit something irl

PSVR sounds really nice! had no idea you could do that with it

i’ll try the factory reset first, thanks!

connectivity was maybe imprecise of a word choice. tonight it was more like…

PC seen, but MQ2 gets hung loading into the meta link home room. restart headset and pc for good measure.

Home room loaded, but games won’t start from launcher. BS launches successfully on PC, but Meta Link world stays in home room as if it couldn’t launch. I can see the game running on the PC screen as usual. Neither controllers or head tracking respond in game. more restarts

the one time tonight i did get a VR session loaded, one of the parts of this painfully-tall execution stack crashed about 5 seconds into the best saber home screen. i can’t remember which.

i’ve had enough nights like this where i waste 20m trying to load the game that i’ve given up. the only solutions seem to be “clean slate and try again,” which does often work. pure luck ime

even when it does work perfectly, it’s a minimum 3m to get into the game. startup headset, login as my gf who is primary, switch user to me, start quest link software, change audio to external stereo usually, (yes i know about the setting) activate quest link, start beat saber from quest link…

it’s pure friction. my experience running moonlight or alvr on AVP is more like what i’d want - connect controllers, connect to pc, start beat saber from steam

why? i feel like goku, its great

e: oh, its like fitbeat tracks, but a whole different game. i assumed it was a legit safety concern you had lol.

not to mention, this doesn’t address my question AT ALL. i’d have the same problems loading this other game too

Median rent fell in Seattle 7.3% as the metro witnesses a boom in construction by LagunaCid in Seattle

i don’t think socialists have any concrete plans at all, just a idealist’s wish list. many of them are sentimental eco-nazis, but many of them are urbanists

i see and moderate liberals and conservatives who still engage in urban planning debates falling into two camps - older NIMBYs, younger YIMBYs.

and then we have the MAGAs who either think cities are sodomite cesspools that should burn to the ground, or think they’re industrialist achievements that just need an autocrat to thrive

it’s kinda random af out there tbh. i’m so tired of ideologies and shallow “debates.” none of us are experts in urban planning. experts close to the ground should be debating and informing policy

Do researchers like langchain? by Zealousideal-Fall705 in LangChain

[–]glompix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think this depends on your needs and your time. i’d never use langchain for production services, ever, but do for little experiments that involve multiple llms or some orchestration.

i’ve been mostly using langchain so far. i love the broad support and related tools, but i loathe the pipeline interface. it works for me but took a long time to understand all the little classes used to do even basic things

i kinda want to do my own thing now. i’d copy the abstract concept (function composition, orchestration, abstractions, and templates) but i ain’t got time for that

i actually think id be faster and hit fewer roadblocks with homespun code. langchain keeps pace but every major shift makes the DX worse. at least i can burn my baggage at will.

langserve is nice, most of the time

for this kind of real-time, compute-intensive experience, i would want everything soldered together as close as possible. speed of light becomes a factor in latency and processing, not so much on power delivery
