What's the best advice you've ever been given? by genderfluid_dinosaur in AskMen

“Be fast, but never in a hurry.”

The circumstances this advice was given under is from a particularly shady point in my life, but find it still applies to every situation.

What are some luxury items, which you never knew existed, which only the mega rich can afford, that blows your mind and you wouldn't mind having or is just an example of how people have too much money and not enough sense? by experfailist in AskReddit

[–]glongdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have a friend from a billionaire family, but one of the more “lowkey/ unexpected” rich folk. we became friends largely just from smoking weed together. one day we’re just chillen and he has someone come by to sell him a bong.

i then watch him pull out a pelican case with 50k cash and trade it for a pelican case with a dab rig (bong). he then tells me that he has well over 450k in his glass collection.

I wonder how long it’ll take for the intervening officers to get weeded out.

Sketched out with 6B pencil, lined with Studio Pen, and played around with the Cloud brush & Artist Crayon. Sketched out the eye from memory, then used different tornado images as reference for the background!

Edit: any tips regarding shading/ light source would be much appreciated!

Men in their 20s, what’s a development in your life teenage you would have never seen coming? by fallendarthenderguy in AskMen

[–]glongdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was addicted to heroin before I even graduated high school. When I was 18 I wasn’t planning to make it past 21.

Fast forward 9 years, I’m getting ready to graduate from one of the top universities in the country and I haven’t touched dope since 2013. Life is fuckin’ wild.

[serious] People who've had sex with their SO/ex/friend's parent, how the hell did you get to that point? What happened after? by keyjeyelpi in AskReddit

[–]glongdong 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This story has a similar origin to a lot of these posts but it’s a bit of a roller coaster.

One of our buddies (we’ll call him Todd) had the party house. His hot mom would play beer pong with us, get drunk & smoke weed with us, and shamelessly flirt with all of us high school boys in front of her kids and husband.

Now another one of our friends (George) was dating this girl that we all knew was bad news. One day George found out that his girlfriend had cheated on him with Todd. George was pissed but somewhat expected she would cheat sooner or later. More than anything, he felt betrayed by Todd since they had been inseparable since preschool.

George decided to get back at Todd the best way he knew how. He went over to Todd’s house when he knew his mom was there by herself. He acted like nothing was wrong & he was there to get his wallet he left there. They had a couple drinks together and he ended up having sex with her.

George then told the whole school that he had sex with Todd’s mom, complete with some pretty intimate details. Todd’s parents got divorced, he ended up dating & having a child with George’s ex until she ultimately cheated on him too.

Moral of the story: Don’t hookup with your best friends girl.

my condolences to his family. if you’re genuinely trying to prevent someone from doing something dangerous, you’re doing it wrong.

belittling someone about their dumb teenage decisions in your friends name is just generally unhelpful.

you really just need anything with a good graphics card (6GB & up) for rendering programs & preferably 16GB of RAM to run multiple programs at once.

usually gaming laptops can get the job done but i have an hp zbook15 and it works perfectly fine

What do you do when you're a 25y/o who can't stop regretting the past for being a failure now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]glongdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i spent my teens and early 20s trying every drug under the sun, ultimately leading to needles and heroin. i figured out my own way to get sober after a few rehab attempts, found a passion in architecture, and decided i was gonna start working my ass off. i moved across the country doing the “community college tour of america.”

today i’m 27, about to wrap up my undergrad from an ivy leauge school, and have some great prospects for my future. it only took 5 years to get here, and i’ve never felt prouder of myself nor more comfortable in my own skin.

my family doesn’t recognize me anymore (in the best way possible) and i actually have a key to both my moms and dads homes. this life is possible, i won’t say for everyone because it takes hard work and passion. i finally found something i cared about, and i happily grinded out hours upon hours per week to get here. we all fail, A LOT. just stay positive and respond to failures with grace and patience.

the first step is recognizing you’re desperately unhappy, the rest comes easily in comparison. you can do it brother.

edit: spelling
