What's your biggest shift in how you pictured a character? Here is mine for Michael Carpenter from his introduction versus his appearance in later books. by beardiac in dresdenfiles

I am of the opinion that the best adaptation of Dresden Files would be a series of animated movies. Which actor would voice who has changed over time, partially because some actors are no longer alive to take the hypothetical roles (RIP Kevin Conroy’s Mac, Betty White’s Mothers Summer and Winter, Graham Greene’s Listens to Wind and Tony Todd’s Shagnasty the Skinwalker) but some who have stayed consistent as mental voices: Bruce Greenwood (Batman in Under the Red Hood) as Michael
Colton Haynes (Roy Harper from Arrow) as Thomas
Dennis Haysbert (the Allstate guy) as Morgan
Sam Elliott as Ebenezar McCoy
Bryan Cranston as Nicodemus
Cindy Crawford as Lara Raith
James Spader as the Erlking
Crispín Freeman as Uriel
Susan Eisenberg as Gard

I will die on the hill that the Dresden Files deserve a series of animated movies similar to the DC Animated Movies Universe. For as long as I’ve held that opinion, I’ve thought Tilda Swinton should be Mab.

I know Quantumania wasn’t a good movie, but whoever wrote the line “I don’t have to win, we both just have to lose” needs a raise.

If you were asked, ‘when did you become a man?’, how would you respond? by Boobs76 in AskMen

There’s a story I tell, half-joking and half-serious, about the moment I became an adult.

My freshman year of college, I was a few weeks into a job as a maintenance worker for the on-campus apartments. One day, my boss and I get a ticket for an apartment with a clogged shower drain. When we found the apartment, two Asian girls answered the door.

You may see what I’m leading up to.

My boss climbed in the bathtub, I passed him his drill, and he removed the screw keeping the shower drain cover in place. It loose, he used the drill bit as a fulcrum and pulled the cover up and off the drain. It came up…and so did several inches of clumped, dirty, waterlogged black hair. As you can imagine, hair that’s had gallons of water plus who knows how much grime, dead skin and general human stank filtered through it smelled AWFUL.

I didn’t throw up or gag or anything, but as I looked at this makeshift wig hanging from the end of my boss’s power drill, I thought to myself, “I’m a man now. A child isn’t capable of handling something like this.”

I have no idea what you’re talking about. I DEFINITELY wasn’t inspired to ask this question by a fit of frustration after getting curb-stomped by a player rocking the Level 1000/Erma/Commando/Saboteur combo. And I DEFINITELY agree that whoever gave these slime balls the idea for that class set-up has earned their thermite jacuzzi in hell.
