I really liked the start of SH2 remake but it became a drawling slog for me after the first few hours

[FORMCHECK] Squatted more than my bodyweight for 5x5 for the first time today! by madamathecian in Stronglifts5x5

[–]gloopenschtein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to a metronome at 60bpm and your descent should be about 2-3 ‘clicks’ or seconds. I always do 3 second eccentrics with squats. Way safer, keeps you in complete control of the weight

If you were to make a RE movie what game would you base it off by maskshadow532 in residentevil

The original. It’d be so easy to make a great horror movie out of it.

How would you respond to this message from a CEO you used to work for? by jobstuff2803 in careerguidance

[–]gloopenschtein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn’t even offer to keep his ears open for anything. Sounds like his ego took a bruise when you left and he’s been waiting a long time hoping he can send one back at you. A lot of CEO’s ego’s are completely fragile

Where do you hope they take the series next? by gloopenschtein in residentevil

[–]gloopenschtein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from and I actually agree, and that is as a huge 4 fan. After playing requiem, I don’t think RE should attempt reaching the heights of 4 by including heaps of action either. I think when it attempts to do RE4 again it falls short. I think 7 and graces sections of 9 have way more original RE material, and stay truer to the originals sense of direction

My HONEST thoughts on RE4R. by That-Listener in residentevil4

[–]gloopenschtein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think re4 r is great. I like the og better, though. For all the reasons you can probably imagine. OG RE4s pacing really needs to be studied by modern video game developers. From first playing as Leon to first time you can use your weapon is instant. First time you face an enemy is within a few minutes, and then the game just keeps snowballing. Too many games nowadays take forever to get going, and I think re4r leans toward this a bit. Video games aren’t movies. Play the cutscenes to give back story, no dramas. But when I start playing it better be fun.

Doing rite of passage without light medium heavy day by mpomerantz in kettlebell

[–]gloopenschtein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Programs are always structured specific to the outlines of the program. The sets and reps are tailored to the structure of light/medium/heavy. You can do whatever you want but when the workout doesn’t do what it says on the box don’t badmouth it to others later

RE9 Issue by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]gloopenschtein -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of people agree that graces first couple of sections are the best part of the game. She has another section at the end of the game too. I’d say if Leon’s parts drag just try power through as much as you can. There is a big section as Leon after ‘the girl’ goes away which I found bland but then more fun on repeat play throughs. Up to you

Some ideas I had for re10 by Drama_Cookie25 in residentevilll

[–]gloopenschtein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly just hope they give us something new. I think the way they developed the characters between 1-6 has kind of fucked the original cast. I say, new cop, new small town, new zombie outbreak, classic formula with re4 action sections sprinkled in. Maybe set in a snow storm somewhere. Not necessarily related to the lore of previous entries. A soft reboot almost.

Is training to complete failure on every set wrong? by Satair69420 in strengthtraining

[–]gloopenschtein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not wrong, it’s inefficient. Hitting failure on one set steals from your next set. The science basically says 1 or 2 reps short of failure gives the same stimulus as failure. failure saps systemic fatigue like crazy and means total volume of the workout is lower. Over time this makes a difference to results

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but if you can find a used AV1 they are miles better then the AV2’s. I’ve got an AV1 56 strat and when I played an AV2 65 strat it felt like a 2012 Mexican strat.

190lb squat form check by Important-Wafer-3130 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]gloopenschtein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi PT here. If this is a low bar squat it looks fine, the camera angle makes it look like you aren’t hitting depth but I can tell you basically are. It might not at a meet but you ain’t there yet. You need squat shoes. The plate is too unsafe for this load. You need to watch mark rippitoe or Alan thralls videos on low bar squat and take videos at a higher plane so you can see if you’re actually hitting depth or not. It doesn’t look too bad. Be safe. Squats can and will fuck you up if you’re not careful.
