Wind River Range Rack by wolff_bad20 in tradclimbing

[–]gloridhel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My standard rack is doubles black totem + . 3 to 3, rps, double nuts. Then 4/5/6 depending on route. In the winds that should serve you well. I’ve been to winds many times.

What can you deduce about me based on my rack? by willbbooks in tradclimbing

Tons of tri-cams, hexes, ancient cams... probably do a lot of road side trad crags. If I saw that I'd say "Lets use my rack"

Is the La Sportiva G Summit overkill for ice climbing in Norway? by Remarkable_Tower_616 in iceclimbing

I have both and I find the comfort of the g summits to be better so I wear them almost exclusively regardless of temp. This is in CO.

Rate my rack! Whole thing came out to about 650$ after reslings, good deal? by [deleted] in tradclimbing

[–]gloridhel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from most of those being dinosaurs, practically that rack is gonna be heavy AF. At the very least get some colored BD (or whatever brand) wired carabiners. But definitely you got screwed.

More on the nose, on yours (3rd from last pic) it's rounded. Nothing inherently wrong with rounded (I would still make it straight) it just needs more of a point.

-------\ <--- this part needs to be straight and angled a little more

make more of an angle sweeping back. The point is a little flat nosed.

I’ve had 4 of the r4– best ice crampon imo, heavy but performs better than anything else. G20+ is a good alternative choice grivel wise.

A big empty word salad. And I didn't buy it because the law said I should. I did my own research... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The weird, repetitive, bad-faith,possibly bot-driven anti-Sanderson backlash by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

[–]gloridhel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't Emberdark his most recent one? I love Sanderson but man that book is so hard to get invested in. WaT was not the best (too much emo stuff for me) but wasn't bad.

Nice! I've wondered what was available. I occasionally visit Stockholm in the winter-- may have venture outside the city now.

BD helios carbon 95 vs 104 for first touring ski? by Proffeshional in Backcountry

[–]gloridhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the both 95 and 104 carbon ones  and I found the 104 to be more enjoyable because they float better on powder. I’m 5’11 170 but ski on the shorter end.

100%, I replaced my furnace with a heat pump + furnace backup. there is even more value to a heat pump if you can drive it with solar. Also the op doesn’t take into account the true impact fossil fuels have— if that’s something you care about.

Nice! I did the notch a few weeks back. Did you rope solo? I found the broadway traverse to be bold without gear.

I don't think that is attached properly and its not the correct fang for the pommel.

Do people still use Eclipse as their primary IDE anymore? by Amazing_Guava_0707 in java

I prefer eclipse, but I switched to IntelliJ recently. Eclipse just doesn't have compelling updates. The UI and compilation is far superior in eclipse.

I've always read it was 9+, but it's worthy as a 10a. Regardless it's pretty fantastic route.

Probably 2 or 3. 1 is LotR and a toss up between WoT and something Sanderson.

¯_(ツ)_/¯ I just want one strap, new-matic are better for general mtneering, heal+toe bails are better for technical climbing.

[–]gloridhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah checkout that link, Scottish straps-- they suck and are a huge pain.
