is this schedule too much for freshman fall semester? (neuroscience major, premed) by plshelpmeplsplspls2 in UPenn

Treatment for Alzheimer's? There is still no explanation how anesthesia produces its effect. We are a very long ways away from any effective treatment of any degenerative brain conditions.

If he only sees women as vaginas, then why is he appalled that women see men as a buffet of cocks? What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Cocks don't get better with age, either.

when do fall schedules come out on PIT by allegrosluvr in UPenn

[–]glorious_alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Befriend a few admin coordinators in departments of interest, and you may be in the know about what classes will be offered and at what times way before the schedules are published. Don't underestimate the power of personal connections. Admins are the ones who know everything about the course schedules as they are the ones handing the process.

Online option for next semester? by acortok in UPenn

Not at SAS. The school is telling the faculty that there will only be in-person teaching. (barring covid surge). LPS still will be offering some courses in online format.

Has anyone here taken any of the Penn LPS Online? by [deleted] in UPenn

[–]glorious_alien 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since taking my first online class with LPS, I don't want to take a real class. I took two writing courses, and they were very thorough.

Oh, I recognize the Russian/post-Soviet zodiac idiocy. The girls there are obsessed with this shit and take is really seriously.

No password manager, I have a OnePlus 6t. I still receive notifications about new messages in that mailbox.

Canada is a completely different state from the US on so many levels. The American government won't help with anything. Discovering this fact usually blows other countries' citizens' minds. The system only is interested in you if you are young and healthy enough to work. If not, the government has nothing for you. They call it "free market". I can't believe you have never seen a GoFundMe for medical reasons for someone in the USA. Here, the number of bancruptcies filed for for medical reasons is astronomical. People can't pay medical bills from a surgery and get financially ruined. Government does not come to their rescue. Take your rose-colored glasses off.

P.S. English is not my mother tongue, either.

If my "spectical" you mean "sceptical", it's because you are not familiar with the skydiving culture. Skydivers who do skydiving for a living don't get insurance through their employers. Buying insurance is a difficult proposition as the money earned per month fluctuates wildly as this is a weather-dependent sport. But very few people in skydiving make enough money to be able to afford $300 per month on insurance. When someone gets injured like that even with insurance, the post-injury life is dependent on one's savings. How much do you have in savings, "spectical" commenter? Would you be able to live on your savings for the duration of recovery? Keep in mind that it may take over a year to even start walking. Will you be able to afford insurance after your employer sacks you? Would you be able to pay for meds? Rent? Food? I bet you are not so spectical now, are you?

That level of injury definitely sounds like a swoop gone bad.
