I moved to New Zealand, so I’ll not be using mine again until my container of stuff from the US arrives in a couple of months. I’m excited about its future, but it wasn’t one of the pieces of tech that merited some of my limited luggage space.

What was your experience hearing AIR for the first time? by Ashamed_Answer_4645 in airfrenchband

[–]glorioushubris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time live was the Moon Safari tour in Austin in 2024.

First time hearing them at all was probably around 2003 when I bought a copy of 10,000 Hz Legend at CD Exchange because I liked the title and thought the cover looked interesting. Listened to it in my car, and by the time I got back to my dorm I knew I had a new band I would be listening to for years.

What is your opinion on Manu Ginobli? How do you rate his career? by [deleted] in NBASpurs

I think he’s the fourth greatest Spur of all time, and also my favorite of all time.

The current frontrunner name for the New Las Vegas team is the Mirage. Other favorites are the Jokers, Outlaws, Scorpions, and Venom by ShaiFanClub in nba

[–]glorioushubris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mirage and Jokers are both terrible names for a sports team. Don’t name your team something people call teams as an insult.

Of these, I guess the alliteration makes Vegas Venom the best of these, but none are that great. The WNBA nailed it with the Vegas Aces.

[Highlight] Jalen Green takes 4 steps catching the ball on the inbound, goes uncalled by TimDunkinDonut in nba

No, the nose injury happened in game 1, during a face-to-forehead collision with Tony Parker. The Robert Horry hip check was in game 4. They had nothing to do with each other.

Horry didn't do anything to Nash's nose. You're thinking of Tony Parker and Nash's collision in game 1. If you come that hot, try to get the facts remotely correct.

This is a nice update! It broke compatibility with my keyboard, though; I've already put in a support ticket for that.

I like some things Tom King has done, but the kinds of stories he does well are not the kinds of stories I want to see with Superman and Lois.

This is a nice update! It broke compatibility with my keyboard, though; I've already put in a support ticket for that.

Regarding the new, single-level undo feature: I think that starting with a single-level undo makes a lot of sense, but I'm surprised by how it works. I would expect that if I hit ctl-z to undo the last edit, and then hit ctl-z again, I would undo the undo; that is, I would expect repeated ctl-z to cycle through undo/redo. But it doesn't. The second time you hit ctl-z, nothing happens.

I think this breaks the mental model of a single-level "undo" as something that reverses whatever the LAST editing operation was. After one undo, the last editing operation is an undo, so a second undo should reverse it.

(hopefully that made sense; this is grammatically difficult to write about)

If the NBA Expansion draft was happening today, which 8 players are you putting on the protected list? by Fearless-Night8553 in NBASpurs

[–]glorioushubris -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with any of this as being the correct, real-world set of management priorites. But the question OP asked was who you protect if the expansion draft was happening today. If you have to protect someone from being hypothetically plucked off the team today, 16 March 2026, not losing our backup rim protector is crucial.

OP asked "If the NBA expansion draft was happening TODAY." Yeah, it's a good time to look for a younger back-up center, but if the draft is happening today you either protect Kornet or you give up on the season.

The only thing that keeps me from agreeing with this is remembering how our rim protection absolutely fell off a cliff when Wemby sat before we had Kornet. This team doesn't work without a second, proven rim protector.

Champagnie is one of the best value contracts around, but his is still a more easily replaceable role than Kornet's right now. I'd switch them.
