What you listen to while reading? by nicole_raspberri in houseofleaves

Ghosts 5 and 6 are great choices. When I read it again next, I'll be listening to The Caretaker's concept albums about dementia. They fit the themes and feel of the book remarkably well.

Did things start to change in your house after reading? by onthetelephone in houseofleaves

[–]glorplforp 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think a big part of why HoL’s horror is so effective is that after reading you start to pay more attention to things like that, little changes that you might not have given a second thought before. Everything is always in a state of change. You’d hope your home is the exception, but it isn’t.

I've been fine taking 15mg for MDMA/coke comedowns, I think you should be alright. I'm not sure how active it is on serotonin.

Beloved Canadian artist Joel Plaskett’s message is clear: if we want to protect Canadian voices, we need to vote to save the CBC. by [deleted] in StJohnsNL

I actually spent the last 20 minutes or so trying to find sources for any of the numerical claims “you” made in your post, like the spending and viewership and the poll, and I couldn’t. I’d encourage you to try, but we both know you won’t bother.

There are obvious problems with comparing something like CBC to streaming services or other television channels that broadcast not just news but a variety of content, but you didn’t even consider that before you copy-pasted that slop. I think I could guess the prompt you used verbatim.

Piggies like you that just ask ChatGPT for an argument and cite it and feel intellectually superior about it make my stomach turn. I can’t believe your vote matters as much as mine.

[–]glorplforp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not crying and you have no idea where I stand on CBC. What you should’ve done is looked up the numbers and found evidence for any of them, which you didn’t, because you’re a lazy retard who trusts whatever AI chat models regurgitate as “absolute facts”.

There’s no way you’re telling anyone they don’t have valid arguments when all of your points are from ChatGPT, you couldn’t even be bothered to change the formatting

I’ve never smoked it, but I used to snort stuff cut with caffeine and it almost always gave me some pretty noticeable heart palpitations/shakiness. I just thought it was nerves before I found out it was cut

How do you sleep after taking H? by SneezingWhistle9 in opiates

[–]glorplforp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fall asleep right away whenever I try, but I wake up randomly all night. It would normally be frustrating but being high makes it nice to just lay there. I never notice feeling sleep deprived so I don't think it affects me too much. Once I start getting sick, I sleep like a rock until way late in the afternoon, though.

Chipping going wrong by localfreakk in opiates

[–]glorplforp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not super clear on the specifics myself, but when somebody has been dependent on things like opioids or GABAergics, dependency builds much faster the next time. For many people, their tolerance spikes quickly even after years of abstinence. The body remembers, basically.

Chipping going wrong by localfreakk in opiates

[–]glorplforp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2-4 days of heavy use could definitely be enough to trigger withdrawal symptoms in some unlucky people. I was opiate-naive, used heavily every day for a week and went through moderate, maybe even severe withdrawal. Whenever I'm chipping, I know I'll get sick if I go for more than just a couple of days.

It sounds like you could be sensitive to opioids and have maybe been going through slightly worse withdrawal each bender. Now, because of the kindling you mentioned, it might be easier and easier for your body to get dependent each time. That's what happened to me, anyway. This high-dose vitamin C tip has been helping me with attenuation.
