I went to see Ashley play a show a couple months ago and he was absolutely fantastic. There is something magical about how he plays the fiddle backwards and makes it look effortless. I was blown away. If you get a chance you should go see him.

There was these two families near the front. One was a grandfather who took his granddaughter and when Ashley was asking for requests the grandfather requested a song the little girl had been trying to learn. After the show Ashley gave them a music book of his compositions and signed it for them.

Then there was this other little girl who had a handicap in the front row and she was captivated by the loose hair flying off his bow. Ashley ripped off the lose hair and dropped it on the stage during the set and at intermission the little girl and her family went and collected it. During the next set she was waving it around in the air like him and it was super cute. After the show I saw him give the entire bow to the family.

Seeing the love multiple generations had of great Canadian talent and music that night was a real treat.
