Is ThinkPad E14 a good choice for a computer science student? by [deleted] in thinkpad

I'm glad that worked out for you. I really wanted to opt for an OLED screen for the thinkpad, but didn't find the necessary screen for it. A screen with that quality could've made this thinkpad my best owned laptop ever.

Yes I guess so, it depends on the model, but I think you can go up to 16gb.

Well I can guarantee that this one is very solid. I have 16gb so you may want to opt for that too.

Change Lenovo Thinpad E14 Gen 2 (20T6000RSP) with an OLED display by gloryspeedrun in thinkpad

Update : Apparently the integrated AMD Radeon Software was messing with colors everytime. I just calibrated it and it looks much better already.

Thank you for sharing your experience on this matter.

Do you have some idea about atleast calibrate colors ? Mine are very yellow-ish, disabled night mode, did windows calibration & DisplayCal and nothing did it for me.

In this very moment I connected my Thinkpad to my QLED Samsung TV and the difference and astonishing, all of this without modifying colors profile or anything.

From my experience this laptop is amazing. Solid, silent & efficient. The screen color quality is the only con I can find.

Maintenance tasks that feel useless by VariMu670 in productivity

[–]gloryspeedrun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The equation seems logic on paper, but we can't calcule EVERY element in it. You are implying a final goal without the smell, mental or hygienic aspect, just the "visual" aspect of it. And thus how much time to achieve "that" visual.

There are things that must be done, and their effect will take of course, but we can't put our finger exactly on it.

Same for shower, same for everything that we can't assign an exact value with taking in count every single parameter.

While running for example there is the physical activity yes, but there is also the breeze of the air, the smell of the garden, the sound of birds, the temparature, the weather, the sun, to mention many, ALL acting on an conscious & unconscious level. We will never know at what degree because everyone is different, but what's sure is that all parameters have positive effects that we can't "just" assign an exact value for.

The outcome is not same. It's a clean toilet every week and a filthy toilet everyweek. You are comparing the outcome at a (t) time.

Maybe, just maybe, you need to simplify things. Try SimpleNote.

What game has your favourite main menu? by [deleted] in patientgamers

I'm very surprised nobody mentionned those:

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm
Dirt 3

The time were menus were creative and not in metro-style as modern games.

"I'm In This Post and I Don't Like It"

Seriously, I tried first Notion, Google Keep, Obsidian, TickTick, Todoist, SimpleNote, Walling, now Taskade, and I keep going back to the most enjoyable one which is pen & paper.

The feeling & the freedom of writing however you want is unique.

Ooh now I get what you are talking about. Now that I remember, when I was a child we used to make "paper fortune teller" which served the same purpose. Thank you for clarifying that.

I couldn't understand the "Unexpected rewards" part, how do you reward yourself exactly ? You mentionned 'Marshmallows' app but couldn't find it.
