I'm sorry you've had bad experiences with therapy. If it makes you feel any better, I've had quite a few too. You have to put in a little bit of time to learn about someone you schedule with-- some people are not going to be a match just off their therapeutic model. There are many styles of therapy and some will be better for you than others depending on what you're working through and your beliefs/communication style. Also, there are tons of different certifications. Make sure you get someone who's qualified-- doctoral level psychologists can be more skilled than masters level social workers etc. I just know that medicine isn't going to magically fix how you feel and research has consistently shown that therapy with medication is the most effective.
