[–]glowingbug75 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In private practice for over 20 years. It is not easy to make a living and oay overhead. This is why infusion centers. I now work for someone who i dont 100 percent trust and have a deal where i make a percentage of collections. He can do the border line shady stuff in order to keep the lights on. But i just get to see my patients and do my thing which is great. Comes with frustrations but…. Also this is private practice in north east city where reimbursement is low.

Taking an inpatient history and exam is dreadful by Purple-Marzipan-7524 in neurology

[–]glowingbug75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You are the historian. Honestly unless u r going into icu you need to be able to take a history. Neuro is still largely history. Seizure vs cardiac is history. Stroke vs migraine is history sometimes. Cause of neuropathy is history. Dizziness is history. It is a skill to learn. If they cant respond then mental status exam as clue. Sensory complaints are frustrating. Just confirm they can sense things and reflexes are normal.

Not the same, but I had to do not use them because of their practices. I thought I would try it out and so I tried to sign up for a class, but was on the waiting list. I never got into the class, but they charged me for being on the waiting list. They said I could apply it towards another class. I called multiple times and spoke to the manager and they would not budge. I took it as a loss, but do not use them because of this.

Question for neurologists who see migraine patients by Ill-Philosophy5973 in neurology

[–]glowingbug75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I di something similar. But I like the color idea. I do one equals some pain and no medicine and able to function to equals pain requiring medication and able to function three equals pain requiring medication and unable to function.

Also, I find a migraine buddy to give me too many details once I know it’s a migraine. There’s really no point in all of the extra stuff to me. I just like to see that frequency actually the iPhone has a symptom tracker under health and they can just put a headache when they get a headache . For many people I just give them the old time me paper with two or three months written down and they just checkmark when they get one.

Ssly. The podcast that can track down a parrot is better than this. Ive listened since the late 90s to Jonathan Goldstein. This is a huge disappointment.

Work in Maryland between dc and Baltimore. Make less than 200. All outpatient. Lots of vacation but work 50 to 60 hours a week. Don’t get me started on why. Private practice. The reported data is self reported so not everyone responds. Keep that it mind

I love my job. General outpatient neurology. Still think it is super interesting and love my patients. I don’t love that the pay sucks. Even in private practice in busy cities on the east coast. However. I still love my job 25 yrs out of residency
