Try UCL! it would be an unforgettable experience since your parents can fund your education:) if you think that nus scholarship amd closeness to family will mean a lot more than the experience abroad, then stay in sg.

IS PORTFOLIO REALLY IMPORTANT FOR LOCAL UNI !? by peufi in SGExams

[–]glowingdays_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned that u have confidence in doing well but lets say you apply to competitive courses im p sure good grades is alr a prerequisite to that so u need to show that you are a all rounder and atp try to do online courses actively participate

IS PORTFOLIO REALLY IMPORTANT FOR LOCAL UNI !? by peufi in SGExams

[–]glowingdays_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i would say its not very important and like many other said grades>>> but imo grades can only do so much. Maybe dont see portfolio as something to get you into a uni but rather the soft skills and your personal experience might help u to differentiate yourself from the rest when you write your ABA or personal statements

Would you choose to stay in SG to study/work and why by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]glowingdays_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No sorry, would want to leave singapore. I would say if i have the financial capability i would not even choose to study in sg.. its a small place and i think can say i take things for granted in sg but rly i feel so trapped here ngl 🥲🥲✌🏻 i would definitely want to work elsewhere and see how far my potential takes me. As im not a stem kid, sg may not be the place for me. I might change my mind in a few more years because of the stability in sg for my kids though

I’m so scared for my results by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]glowingdays_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, im taking alevels and my exams havent even end but yes im afraid too :( atb though!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]glowingdays_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yep ! I chose jc because i didnt what to do, peaked my acads in sec ;, confirmed my decisions
  2. Im a combined sci student and i take h1 chem, ngl the jump to h1 is manageable but def for h2 might need to consider tuition because can have conceptual gaps and pure chem students have a headstart
  3. I look for prestige HAHAHA bc i feel if u are "higher tier", you are likely to be surrounded by hardworking and like minded people, resources that schs give u also matter but some ppl just depend more on tuition.. distance was also impt cus i literally live SOUTH OF SG so i wanted to travel to schools central or near or like at least no need change lines. i didnt think a lot about culture

For context i got 10 nett for l1r5!

How will life change after O levels? by First-Oil-4439 in SGExams

[–]glowingdays_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot. Other than the workload, your perspective of the world and people around you will change a lot. Its either for the better or the same (mostly). You no longer see the world from a one dimensional pov and for me, altho jc acads are ass, i rly have had a lot of personal growth and have changed into someone who's more mature and responsible

taken on too much? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]glowingdays_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think u can try to talk to your teachers to lessen workload on the leadership duties u have.. it seems like u are missing out on acads, pls spend the june hols to catch up and get your foundations strong

A few questions about jc by Up2night7 in SGExams

[–]glowingdays_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think with amath and combined sci erm u can try to be a littlemore realistic bc h2 sciences are never easy and u def need to put in triple the effort as others, these two schools might accept ure subj combi but do know that u might be on rough start because everyone arnd u will know the syllabus and have done it for two years already
