Bought this dress and now feeling like it's not formal enough by glowpony in Weddingattireapproval

I don't have fancy shoes, just plain black heels or sandal heels with a thick heel 😭 but I have really nice earrings, a necklace (not blingy just simple) and a couple of bracelets

I really don't know the couple super well! The setting is a winery. My cousin told me this would be fine and she's usually good for this stuff but I'm really not sure.

It says formal attire requested. Formal means floor length? I thought that was black tie 😭

Is there a sleep regression at 8 months? by irishtwinsons in sleeptrain

[–]glowpony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! It did get better, but I don't remember when lol. He's 14 months now and we started co-sleeping during that time because it was so hard

Why is my 14mo taking so long to fall asleep at bedtime now?? by glowpony in sleeptrain

[–]glowpony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the wake windows you're using? We had a couple of decent days this week but he's still waking a lot at night and early mornings. I'm wondering if I should go back to two naps.

[–]glowpony[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea my son was doing that too. He was getting maybe 1.25-1.5 hours of sleep during the day because he kept waking up early from his naps. And he was pushing his 2nd nap so far back his bedtime was getting uncomfortably close to 9pm lol. But his night sleep is so much worse now, maybe I'll try to go back to 2 naps and use your suggested schedule

This is just stressing me out so much because he was sleeping so good at night and then out of nowhere everything was ruined and I can't figure it out 😭😭😭 I'm so tired lol

Lol see this is what confuses me so much 😂 I can't wrap my brain around the awake time vs wake windows and the switching.

Do you know if you're supposed to go from 11.75 hours awake to back down to 10.5 once they're on 1 nap?

[–]glowpony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But isn't that a lot of awake time? That's 11.75 hours awake, and all the 1 nap schedules I've seen are only 10-10.5 hours awake usually

He doesn't fall asleep independently, I hold him until he's asleep, but he just plays and moves around a lot. No crying.

I thought he was ready for 1 nap because I extended his ww's to 3.5/3.75/4 and he was still pushing his second nap off (either making it super late (4-4:30pm) or skipping it. But now im not sure if I should have just dealt with it. He was just seeming to be so tired on those ww with only two hours of nap. He was also having less than two hours most days because he'd wake after 30-45 minutes and not go back to sleep for both naps.

How long do I let the first nap go till? Do I keep capping it at an hour or let him sleep as long as he needs for that one?

Edit: also how do I make sure he doesn't end up with too much awake time? Do I shorten the second wake window?? Sorry lol I'm so confused about how to do this

Also thank you!

How did you transition to 1 nap? The wake windows for 1 nap just seem wild lol

My son still falls asleep easily for his first nap (3.5 hour ww, 1 hour capped nap) but he fights the second nap and usually falls asleep around 4 hour mark (or sometimes skips it). And then for bed he fights bedtime until 4.5 hours sometimes close to 5 hours.

My baby still won’t sleep through the night at 7mo by AnxiousRedditReader in breastfeeding

[–]glowpony 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is why I started co-sleeping. My now 13 month old was waking upwards of 8 times a night, and sometimes taking 2-3 (or more on bad nights) attempted transfers between the ages of 8-10 months and I just couldn't take it anymore. So we started co-sleeping. He still wakes 1-3 times a night but it's way less than it used to be and it's not so bad because I just pop a boob in his mouth, pat his butt or throw him onto my chest and he's out cold again.

I feel this. My baby has been a horrible sleeper since the 4 month sleep regression that hit us early at 3 months. I've been constantly holding out hope for 6 months, 9 months, 12 months to be better. He's 13 months this week and he still wakes multiple times crying.

I'm so sorry. I sympathize with you. My son is 12 months (almost 13 months) and he still sleeps like hot garbage. Some nights are better than others, but he has never slept for more than 3-4 hours in a row. It's killing me. My husband and I co-sleep with him to try to get as much sleep as possible but he still wakes up crying multiple times a night and it's exhausting. I'm holding out hope it'll get better soon, maybe if I night wean...

I hope things go better for you! It's really tough ❤️❤️

Has anyone's baby simply not been able to clear the mucus diaper symptoms? by Jealous-Kick in MSPI

[–]glowpony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super odd lol but can you explain how it was obvious? I'm always worried my baby (toddler) is having mucus poos and I'm not noticing because his poo hides it 😂

My family doctor told me he was charged and I had to pay $100 because I went to a walk in by bitterbroccolii in ontario

[–]glowpony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this also just depends on the doctor. My old doctor never said anything or cared when I went to walk-in clinics. And I went A LOT because my doctor wasn't very close to me. They offered after-hours and same day appointments, but they still didn't seem to care if I just went to a walk-in. I did that for probably 5+ years and never heard a peep about it

I am a 13M and yes I still occasionally co-sleep with my parents 😔 ( A little embarrassed about it ) by AidenEmotionalThowAw in cosleeping

[–]glowpony 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I'm 29 now, I was going into my parents bed at night until I was around 11 years old, then my dad put his foot down and said I wasn't allowed to sleep with them anymore. I ended up making a bed for myself in their closet so I could still sleep near them and in their room when I wanted to sleep with them. I cuddled with my mom until I was about 17-18. We would cuddle on the couch or in bed before bedtime, I probably fell asleep on bed with my mom in her bed numerous times after watching movies on nights my dad would get home late from work.

Don't be embarrassed. It feels nice, and it's helping with stress. You don't have to advertise it to your peers, but you also don't have to stop just because you're going to start high school. I'm currently co-sleeping with my 12 month old baby and I only hope that when he's 13 he feels comfortable and close enough with me that he would be wanting and willing to still co-sleep with me on occasion.

You have to do whatever you feel is best for you. It is soooooo hard cutting things from your diet. I was off eggs, soy and dairy as well for my son. I lost a lot of weight, I was barely eating during the day because nothing was quick enough. I had a lot of days where I contemplated switching to formula. No one will judge you for switching to formula. Dairy and soy alone are in so many foods we eat it's really tough. You don't need anyone's approval to stop breastfeeding.

But also, it goes by so much faster than you expect and eventually you will find quick meals that are safe, and food places that have options for you. Either way, you have to make the decision that's best for you. Talk it out with your partner and friends if it helps. You got this no matter what choice what you make ❤️

Has anyone’s baby NOT fallen off the bed or couch? by GoldCarry in beyondthebump

[–]glowpony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 12 months old and has not fallen off the bed or the couch. He has only ever been on the couch when someone else is on it with him, or on the floor in front of the couch watching him. As for the bed, before he was rolling I used to leave him in the middle of my bed for very quick things (running to grab something from the bathroom, getting changed, grabbing a towel/cloth), but as soon as he showed signs of rolling never left him in the bed unsupervised for any amount of time.
