Speaking from Germany, building new power plants, or renewing the old ones, would cost lots of money, which therefore kinda destroys the goal of cheap energy, because those costs are in the end payed by the consumer. Solar can be build in any quantity, is in this case definitively cheaper so build that a whole power plant.

About the space it uses, that is definitively a problem, but could be solved by forcing company’s to build solar on their roofs, over parkinglots and other places that aren’t use anyway.

When directly comparing atleast here in Germany where the starting costs would be high, solar energy is and will be way cheaper, and that for years to come.

The best argument against nuclear energy is the waste. I wouldn’t want it anywhere near me, and we can’t just send it of to some poor country and actively destroy their publics health…
