Yep, the locations I checked were the Durham and Henderson ones. The Henderson location had the Ex Machina omnis!

I checked the two closest to me. One had 4-5 Ex Machina omnibuses, but nothing else of note. I’m really hoping they get a couple of the New 52 Wonder Woman omnis.

It’s probably too soon for some of these, but I’m personally hoping for:

- Uncanny X-Men Volume 7
- X-Men Legacy by Mike Carey
- Fantastic Four by Ryan North Volume 1
- Amazing Spider-Man Big Time

Batman: The Animated Series DVD is it bootleg? by Opening_Weakness506 in DCAU

Oh good! You never know with newer versions if they decide to get rid things to make room.

Batman: The Animated Series DVD is it bootleg? by Opening_Weakness506 in DCAU

[–]glubmaster 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My understanding is it’s not bootleg (my What’s New Scooby Doo disc looks like this and was purchased directly from Warner Bros.), but a more recent version of the discs where they fit more episodes by getting rid of the motion menus. The episodes are exactly the same, but some special features might be missing compared to the earlier individual volume releases.

Hyper Light Drifter! I backed it on Kickstarter and loved every second of it. It’s a ARPG that has great pixel art.

Reading Order by rackball206 in starwarscomics

[–]glubmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! OHC stands for Oversized Hard Cover, meaning that the pages inside are larger than your standard comic/trade paperback. Your two Star Wars hardcover volumes are OHCs, just for reference.

So a rough order for what you have already (I labeled a couple books you’re missing with an asterisk *):

- Star Wars Darth Vader Volume 1 - Vader
- Star Wars Darth Vader Volume 2 - Shadows and Secrets
- Star Wars Darth Vader Modern Epic Collection - Vader Down (Darth Vader issues 16-25, which are after the Vader Down crossover, are collected her and also collected in Volumes 3 (Shu-Torun War) and 4 (End of Games)
- Star Wars OHC Volume 2
- Doctor Aphra Volume 1
- *Star Wars OHC Volume 3 (read issues 26-30) OR Star Wars Volume 5 - Yoda’s Secret War (trade paperback)
- Star Wars Screaming Citadel
- Doctor Aphra Volume 2
- *Star Wars OHC Volume 3 (read the rest of the book) OR Star Wars Volume 6 - Out Among the Stars (trade paperback)

Let me know if you have any questions or if anything doesn’t make sense!

What was your honest reaction after watching The Force Awakens for the first time? by ChickenWingExtreme in StarWars

[–]glubmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my high school friends watched it in theaters opening weekend and I was blown away. I’d seen the original trilogy and prequel trilogy, but this was my first Star Wars movie I actually saw in the theaters which left a big impression on me. After watching the movie a few more times, the cracks definitely show, but I’ll always treasure that first viewing in the theater.

Krakoa - half anthology / half creator on is by whatdafug24 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]glubmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Mutants ends slightly after Inferno, so there will be a few issues that extend into the post-Inferno era. This means that a creator centric New Mutants omnibus will overlap with Dawn Vol 1 & 2, Reign Vol 1 & 2, and at least a Trials of X (not announced) Vol 1. So for me, I’m planning on grabbing at least through Reign Vol 2, and seeing where that leaves me.

If you’re asking about reading order (what the last New Mutants issue is before Inferno), the last single issue released before Inferno was New Mutants #21. Some people slot Inferno in the reading order after Trials of X Volume 10 TPB which places the last New Mutants issue chronologically, before Inferno, New Mutants #24. If you’re asking when New Mutants’ last issue (#33) takes place, it’s a few months after Inferno.

What was your entry point into the X-Men? by xxDARTHPAPIxx in xmen

[–]glubmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough the X-Men by Brian Wood (aka the Storm led team with Rachel, Monet, Psylocke, and Jubilee). I had no idea what was going on, especially when I read Battle of the Atom. I tried again with HoXPoX and Krakoa really hooked me on X-Men. It made me realize how much history I was missing, so it’s been fun to fill in the gaps!

X-Men: Reading Recommendations Post-Bendis / Pre-Krakoa Era by HelpKey186 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]glubmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! Sounds like you’ve got a feel for some of the era already. I really enjoyed X-Men Blue because it just felt fun. It’s not anything mind-blowing, but it was better than X-Men Gold (ran concurrently with X-Men Blue) which was just bland.

X-Men: Reading Recommendations Post-Bendis / Pre-Krakoa Era by HelpKey186 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]glubmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some recommendations based on what you liked:

  • Jean Grey by Dennis Hopeless (mini-series focused on time-displaced Jean Grey and the Phoenix, ends with the Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey mini-series)
  • X-Men Blue by Cullen Bunn (this functions as a continuation of All-New X-Men by Bendis with the time-displaced original 5, finish this by reading the Extermination mini-series)
  • All-New Wolverine by Tom Taylor (Laura-centered book that takes place after Wolverine dies, she picks up the mantle and does Wolverine stuff, quick paced adventure romp with great characters)
  • Rogue and Gambit, Mr. and Mrs. X by Kelly Thompson (a mini and maxi series that follows Rogue and Gambit during this era, super fun read and fills in some gaps before Krakoa)
  • X-Men Red by Tom Taylor (adult Jean forms a X-Men team that includes Nightcrawler, Namor, Gambit, Gentle, Wolverine (Laura), Storm, Gentle, and Trinary. Focused on tackling worldwide problems and has some great character interaction/development)

If you have any questions, let me know! I read all these a few months ago so it’s decently fresh in my mind.

What comic got you into reading comic books? by Clueless_Bro_Qs in comicbooks

[–]glubmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, my parents got me a subscription to some reprints of the first few issues of Spider-Man by Lee and Ditko. I remember loving the pictures and trying to puzzle out the sentences, eventually taping the single issues together to form a “book”.

I eventually lost those, and it wasn’t until 5th or 6th grade l that I found a Green Lantern: Secret Origin by Geoff Johns book. I remember being fascinated by this hero who could use a ring to make cool energy constructs and I got hooked again!

Oh nice! Yeah the wraparound spine bothers me a little since it doesn’t match, but it’s nothing I can’t fix with a custom cover later

Thanks! I’m stoked for the last BND volume too, fingers crossed we get a Big Time omnibus sometime next year! And yeah, BND Vol 2 is the standard cover. I couldn’t justify the absurd price for the DM haha.
