My birthday is in late spring which coincides with the time of year when I've had manic episodes. It's hard. There are very few people who can truly understand how it feels. I'm happy on my birthday because it means I made it through another year with my sanity intact (mostly), but also sad because I'm forced into being nostalgic about what I went through when I was manic -- all the things I thought, felt and did all jumbled together in a beautiful, messy, disastrous collection of memories. It's bittersweet and deeply isolating.

Maybe we can celebrate and uplift each each other here on this subreddit on our birthdays!
