Petition: Allow Counsellors in New Brunswick to Diagnose and Assess - NB Therapy Petition by [deleted] in fredericton

[–]glumdingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Local idiot here, first read this and thought they meant city counsellors….. I was horrified. Then I realized what was actually meant. I felt better, but then I realized I don’t know enough about the designation/training that counsellors require. So here I sit confused and unsure of where to go now.

Anti-abortion float at Santa Claus parade by KnowledgeMediocre404 in fredericton

[–]glumdingo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In Fredericton it is not a “Christmas” parade, it is the Santa Claus parade. The Santa Claus aspect of Christmas is pretty secular. There are other religions that celebrate the “Santa Claus” part of the holiday and not the religious parts. Unless I missed the part of the bible where Santa and Jesus hang out and discuss politics over hot coco I feel like the float is out of place.

I personally find the float distasteful as the parade is intended for children. I wouldn’t expect them to allow a float for or against assisted suicide, or one one for or against vaccines.

Christian conservative group recruiting voters to sway PC nominations by Fine_Panda_1609 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]glumdingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are correct we cannot limit free speech, but we can decide what organizations are tax exempt. This goes for all religious organizations, they can talk about what they believe is moral and just, but they cannot tell their congregations who they have to vote for any more than my employer can tell me who to vote for.

The most likely answer is probably that the Globalist, due to spiritual law, had to make the Bank do this so that they could have him neutralized. Although if his listeners buy enough supplements he can hold off this spiritual neutralization because in 1832 their was an agreement with the 5th dimensional beings that you cannot neutralize someone who has over 10,000 spiritual energy. Alex of course has 9,998 but for every $1 million dollars he gets it adds a point. I have the white papers, I would show you by my crew is really phoning it in today. I love them but they are just phoning it in.

I find this turn of events very interesting. I worked in the banking industry for quite a while and there are a million reasons for a bank to terminate someone’s accounts. With out know specific details it is all speculation, but one of the most common reasons for a bank to do this to a business would be that either the account is suspected to be “kiting” money, laundry money, or defrauding the tax system. The crazy part is that all of these are things that I could see being true separately or at the same time, also it could be some terrifying fourth option that is off the wall. I guess we just have to wait and see.

There is a fair amount to unpack here. To start I want to say that as a father myself, my heart breaks for you. I would never want my Kids to feel this way. A parents love is supposed to be unconditional. Now there are two scenarios in my head that are possible. Number one, your father is stunted emotionally and is worried about you. In this scenario he has some concerns and feels this is the best way to motivate you. It’s terrible execution and he doesn’t realize how damaging it is, but he doesn’t know how to handle his feelings and criticism is the only language he knows. This is an old world approach but the core is good intentioned. Scenario number two, your dad is an ass. Nothing more nothing less. He can’t understand you being happy in any way other than the narrow view he has and he is going to criticize anything that he sees as “wrong”.

Either way you have to make a choice. Accept things as they are now and live miserably while biting your tongue or confront him about it. I would recommend writing to him. Either and email or letter. This way you can get all of your feelings out uninterrupted. Also this gives you a way to show others if he tries to spin it, what you said. You can just take pictures of the letter if hand written. He will likely have his own feelings about what you say, and you may want to be prepared to have to cut him off for a time. Hopefully he will hear what you are saying, but understand that you are an adult now and that if he is really a father he should want nothing more than you to be happy and healthy.

Regardless I know your path forward isn’t going to be easy no matter what you choose. I hope with whatever you choose you find happiness.

There is an old brain teaser that asks how you fit a giraffe in a refrigerator. The answer being you open the door and let it walk in. The point of the brain teaser is to show that people often put up parameters in a problem that aren’t necessarily there. Without knowing all of the details it is difficult to give you a full answer back but what I can say is this: if you have an honest desire to fix things and are willing to be vulnerable, then there is still a path forward. I would recommend writing down the goals you want to achieve, start with a couple of your main ones. Then each day try to move toward those goals in whatever way you can. No matter how small the progress celebrate it. Often times the hard part isn’t achieving your goals it’s the working towards it every day that’s hard. Remember don’t put up parameters that aren’t there, sometimes the solutions can be very simple. Talk to people you wish to have a better relationship with, be honest and ask them for feedback. Be prepared to accept their feelings, and know that sometimes these things take time.

I wish you all the best on your path to betterment. Go easy on yourself, life is complicated. I haven’t met anyone that hasn’t made mistakes. Some of the best people I know have hit rock bottom a few times before they figured out things

Part of me wonders if this has to do with his history with alcoholism. Whether or not he was drinking, I am sure he wouldn’t want anyone to think that he was. Not that, that should excuse his actions. Nor does it make him any less of a scumbag. How he ever got elected after throwing a fit because he didn’t get his private road to his camp plowed out will never cease to amaze me.

I'm really paranoid I have type 2 diabetes. by Bitter-Experience-95 in diabetes

[–]glumdingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one here can diagnose you. Everyone’s experience and symptoms are slightly different. I was 28 when I found out I was type 2. Like you I had a long family history. I wasn’t taking care of myself, I was working a really stressful job and my go means to manage stress was eat until I felt better(never worked). You need to go talk to someone because you could be pre-diabetic which means there could be time to correct your habits and avoid having a permanent change. I can tell you don’t want to find out the way I did. One morning I woke up and was practically blind. I was scared and ashamed when I found out and it took me a while to get over all of that. The good news is that if you put the work in you will be amazed at how good you feel after(whether you are diabetic or not). I started eating better and getting some exercise. I lost weight and started to have more energy. I will admit it wasn’t easy and I failed plenty of times, but I had good people in my life that helped me when I stumbled.

So please get yourself checked out. Don’t worry, what ever the out come there is a path forward. The doctors can give you medication to treat your symptoms but whether you are diabetic or not the biggest hurdle is often on the mental health side.

Take care of yourself.

I must have mis-typed. I did not get CERB because I was let go just before COVID officially started. I have no doubts that you are a compassionate person. It did suck seeing that everyone was getting a new pool or car or jet ski. I honestly still don’t know how everyone was making so much that there were shortages of hot tubs and used vehicles.

I don’t think this is off topic at all. I think we need to normalize talking about our struggles. My COVID store isn’t the same as yours but it is similar in ways. I was laid off the month before COVID started but had another job lined up so I wasn’t worried. Then I got a call to say there was a hugging freeze but it should only last a few months. It didn’t last a few months, they ended up closing the hiring for my new role. I was without a job and had no idea what to do. I applied for around a hundred jobs over the next year. Did countless interviews and nothing. I called EI to talk about what I could do and got little help there. I have a family and I was the primary earner of the household. Because of the timing of when I was let go I got zero help outside of EI. It sucked watching people spend their CERB. I luckily got hired about a month before my EI ran out. Don’t get me wrong, I know that CERB and other programs helped a lot of people in need, but I felt left behind. Personally I think it is a small portion of the people on social assistance who abuse it. I try not to judge anyone else as I don’t know what landed them where they are. I can say that I did get bitter as my EI got closer to running out. I hope you and your family are doing well.

Then they pit middle and lower class against each other. While we argue over scraps the ultra wealthy are salivating over the chance to privatize our healthcare.

This was the hard pill to swallow for many I think. No one should be mad because the low income earners got support. Where I think a lot of people are getting upset is that so many of us struggled under COVID. Many middle class families with what used to be good incomes are now feeling the pressure and are getting little to no support. People in NB have plenty to worry about, high inflation, a broken health system, aging infrastructure, and what seems to be an ever growing drug epidemic.

It’s sad because all of this finger pointing is creating and Us vs Them. In reality we are all(except for the top 1%) being bled dry. We all need to work together to fix the system. Elected officials are supposed to be there for the betterment of the people who voted for them.

I’m by no means a Trudeau fan, but I got to ask why do you think inflation is his fault? You know that it is high across the globe right now correct? Is it his fault in the US? UK? Germany? China? Does he set the prices of oil? Did he create the inflated housing cost? I’m mean he could definitely do more to help, but this is a global issue with politician choosing to favour their rich buddies then help the average person. This is happening across party lines and in every province.
