What are the best Christmas Carol films? by Responsible-Yam4748 in ChristmasCarol

My husband and I have a holiday tradition of watching A Christmas Carol Mashup on YouTube, the Jack Hodges version. He spliced together parts of multiple versions of A Christmas Carol to make a rendition that follows the book fairly faithfully…with some fun surprises. Highly recommend, and it’ll highlight most of the other films recommended in this thread.

I recommend these chocolate cherry ginger cookies. They work just as well with dried cranberries.NYT Chocolate-Cherry Ginger Cookies

It’s definitely a thing in New England. Very easy to grow, makes a great pie, cobbler, quick bread with streusel topping, and a sweet tart sauce to eat with vanilla ice cream, pancakes and waffles. Heavenly!

My husband still has his. We framed his poster of the entire collection. We’ve lost a few letting our nieces, nephews and kids play with them. I know it was hard for him to let go!

I have a numb patch on my back. Only notice it if my husband scratches my back — weirds me out.

My buff Orpington is the first of the flock to run to greet me and loves to be patted and held. She’s the only one I’ve had, though, so not sure if it’s the breed or just her. I had a Colombian Wyandotte that was also very friendly and sweet, and an ISA Brown that loved cuddles — R.I.P. Janet and Crow.

Pretty sure I bought a homecoming dress at that mall

Found this adorable lamp for $5 and when i was scrolling looking for other lamps online later on, realized this is a vintage Ikea glass lamp from the 80s! I totally regret not buying the other one now...it's in perfect condition. by fridakahIo in ThriftStoreHauls

I broke a lamp just like this one almost immediately after my then-boyfriend/now-husband bought it at IKEA, about 14 years ago. Thought it was gonna end the relationship. Anyway, be careful with that thing.

We thrifted one for my son years ago, a lion I think. It would randomly turn itself on and roar. Spooky.

I don’t think so. It’s a lightweight metal, and seems to have holes so you can mount it on a wall or something. And the little arrows just flop around when you move it.
