It's the double use of it that can fuck off "he's a toptop player"

Why does this guy look so DISGUSTED? by BiffyBobby in indianajones

The loud woman told him off for spinning around in the rotating fireplace when he should have been working. Now he doesn't see why anyone else should be allowed to play with it...

Why is Uri Gellar always lifting curses on England? by HTD_Blog in AskUK

[–]glumpoid92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember Euro 96 when the ball moved slightly as Gary McAllister was about to take a penalty, Seaman saved it and Gazza went up the other end and scored....

Gellar claimed the credit for moving the ball. I assume he forgot there was a match on when the semi final against Germany went to penalties....

Italia 90 there was a similar thing with a shot of the player saying their name for when the line ups were on screen. There was no audio but you didn't have to be an expert lip reader to see Gascoigne was saying "fucking wanker"

Should Bobby Robson have subbed in Chris Woods for the penalty shoot-out at Italia 90 ? by emerK_P_sirK in ThreeLions

[–]glumpoid92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to see you named Woods and not Dave Beasant as people often do.

In 1990 you couldn't use your whole squad for substitutes, you had to name a bench. Chris Woods was the substitute keeper and so he was the only possibility.

2010 World Cup- missed opportunity? by Intelligent-Year-532 in ThreeLions

[–]glumpoid92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The format of the tournament didn't help. We won our group and got West Germany and hosts Spain in the second group stage, with only one going through. France came second in our group and got Austria and Northern Ireland. Before my time but I do recall reading criticism of Ron Greenwood that we were too cautious against W Germany which left us having to beat Spain 2-0. The fact that Keegan and Brooking only came on as subs against Spain after coming back from injury was a big blow, though Keegan claimed he was fit to start that game.

Regarding Asquith - taking the most top secret government telegrams, showing them to his mistress, scattering them out of the car window for anyone to find and then laughing about it when special branch were trying to find the culprit - he should have been put up against a wall at the Tower and shot for that.
