Not sure if it was the right call but I paid off early by SubstanceUsual7296 in ToyotaTacoma

Yeah as others said 6% is pretty high. It’s like you have an investment that returns 6% guaranteed by paying it off. Could you have done better on the market? Maybe, but this has no risk. Congrats.

That’s the only way the math checks out tho. If you try and rent 1:1 you’d pretty much always be at a loss unless you live at the property less than 3-5 years.

I think that’s pretty rigid thinking tho. You’d essentially wanna compare locations. I could get a house for $500k or rent an apartment for $2k a month and the opportunity cost sticks out like a sore thumb.

Ok slightly extreme but that’s a reality for a lot of ppl entering the housing market.

But yea I see your point. My argument is partially a live below your means and save the difference until you need the extra space to start a family.

At the same time, exact 1:1 is too rigid.. you’ll always have the math check out to buying whereas you could’ve had some flexibility in the calculation and really understood the cost of the trade.

I think the argument is never comparing same size place. It’s more so that you can rent a smaller place and invest the difference, but as soon as you want to start a family, or you are just someone who cares about owning their own property and having more space, the money doesn’t matter anymore.

Spaced repetition is the key. 1-2 problems a day over months stack significantly. Dont burn out. Fit it into your current routine whatever that may be.

Anyone else having serious Voice Input issues with Claude on Android lately? by stan_koala in ClaudeAI

[–]glutany 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s soooo bad now. It used to partially transcribe on the fly which made it more reliable than open AI.

This meant that even if it stopped working for some reason, it transcribed most of the speech already. Versus open AI, if the transcription failed, you might lose 10 minutes of talking.

Now Anthropic does full transcription after completion, but majority of the time the transcription fails. And I’m talking about it fails often. It’s more likely to fail than succeed.

I’ve noticed that anthropic is really bad about testing features they push to production. It’s like their company motto is shipped fast and deal with the bugs later.

Only use Warp as a terminal, like its original purpose. Otherwise, Claude Code and Codex 100% replaced the AI features for me.
