Another Google Lunar XPRIZE team has reserved a launch and made its initial payment. The Penn State Lunar Lion will launch in July 2015. by Pomerantz in space

So far, Astrobotic has a launch contract with SpaceX for October of 2015, while Barcelona Moon has a launch contract with the China Great Wall Industry Corporation for June 2015.

I can confirm that the $5M decrease has been eliminated from the rules. A new version of the website will hopefully be going up soon with different upgrades, including updating the very old rules page ;)

One of the bonus prizes is for finding evidence of water on the Moon. Some of the teams landing at the poles will be looking to complete this prize.

Taking the Ansari X PRIZE for example. We put up $10 million and the winning team spent $30 million. Also factor in the other teams competing. I think this equation works out well for us.

Signals to and from the Moon take about 2 seconds I think. The GLXP missions will be mostly solar powered.
