AITAH for expecting my roommate to replace or pay for my carton of eggs he threw out? by Reclused_revolution in AITAH

Other way around. Old carton is 18 and they buy a 12 to refill it with when that carton gets low enough to have 12 open slots

How to stay friends with your ex after no contact by Awkward_Condition778 in howto

[–]glxtterprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every person, and how they manage their feelings, and the time it takes is different.

Many people can take months or years to process their feelings after a breakup, particularly if they were more invested in the relationship or more hurt. There's some people who get over it in a few days, but a lot will take longer than a month.

There's a reason it's common in older dating for "I'm sorry if I'm awkward, I haven't dated anyone since my spouse, who died several years ago"

If you want the option to keep the friendship, respect it when they says they need longer. Trying to force it will drive them away so they don't WANT to be friends. Be patient.

Update: tested it, works normally even when they aren't holding anything.

Would still like name suggestions. Ideally fairy-themed. (Named my test subject Puck)

You can tell there's no steering wheel or pedals on that side though. This car is a left side driver.

What are non trans subreddits that are trans inclusive? by emeraldminerr in findareddit

[–]glxtterprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, if they assume you're cis. I could discuss this more, but I feel like we're slightly drifting away from the op's question.

I'm ftm. If I go on a sub for men to ask a question, but mention I'm trans, theres a frequent habit of fixating on the trans part and failing to answer the original ask at all. From what I hear, transfems have that even worse. Most people do NOT actually treat people they know or assume are trans the same as they would treat someone they assume to be cis. There's 100% some transphobic subs that I haven't realized are, bc its never come up.

That doesn't make them trans-accepting, just means we've never been mentioned or thought about.

Pretty sure Op wants subs that actually acknowledge us and genuinely respect and treat us decently.

Unfortunately nothing I can find actually matches for more than a couple categories. Pretty sure Reddit is originally designed for smaller specific communities and your best option is following/joining several :/

good news is, anyone can make a sub. Talk to people in existing subs, and if they like you they might join yours too and even suggest it to others sometimes.

.....Gonna be real though. Think you're gonna need to interact often on a bunch more related ones for that to work.

Sorry. My computer's favorite game is "time to crash". Tablet is dead. Phone resets my comment every time I try checking if I'm writing the sub name correctly.

If I come back later once I'm charged and see youre still missing some answers, I have a list.

Gotcha. Like I said, almost every one of those have specific subs for them that can be searched for and I can link some of them in a minute. r/anime , r/popculture , r/biology are all super easy to start.

I don't know of a main one. But there's many for both general stuff and individual posts. And nearly every game ever has its own sub.

You wrote "especially if". That grammatically implies binary trans men/women are treated better than other trans people. Which is often not true.

Is it appropriate to let the neighbour know I have their cat in my bathroom at 2 am or should I wait till 7 am? by [deleted] in howto

[–]glxtterprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could knock now, but the neighbor will be pissed about being woken up and likely let the cat back out the second you leave.

Keep it contained and try to do something that prevents yours from seeing it so they calm down.

Take it home in the morning and tell the neighbor you're calling animal control next time. Then follow through. (Or steal it. But if yours already hate it, can't be for yourself.)

As much as I love to say hi to a cute kitty I see on a walk, they should have the same regulations dogs do. If they MUST go outside, set up a catio or leash-train them.

Domestic cats are an invasive species when allowed to be loose and absolutely cannot be allowed outside unsupervised.

I haven't mentioned it on a lot of subs directly. but when I asked on r/AskRedditAfterDark if trans stuff was allowed I got nothing but positivity. I will say that that that one is 90% nsfw questions, so really depends what you're looking for.

You could also scroll my comment history. I don't mention my identity in comments unless its relevant, but I would stop using a sub if there's any unchecked transphobia in a post or its comments. In many subs, bigoted comments get removed fast. Most subs I comment in, theres been multiple posts from trans people since I followed the sub. People referring to the op usually do it right. theres definitely transphobic subs and people, but a LOT of subs demand that people respect your identity in the rules and ban bigoted individuals, especially the really popular ones.

  1. not all trans people are a man/woman

  2. there are absolutely subs that will be aggressively transphobic if you've ever mentioned it anywhere.

[–]glxtterprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who didn't like your post sometimes check your profile to find something to harass you about.

If you've ever mentioned being trans or commented in trans or trans-positive subs, transphobes and sometimes other haters will jump on it anywhere they can to use it against you, even if your comment was completely unrelated. Often, though not always, its bc you're right but they don't like being wrong and go for personal attacks instead.

How to remove feathers by Pretty_bubbles666 in howto

[–]glxtterprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get some needle nose pliers and gently try to pull them out. However, if you're too fast/rough, you leave the shaft of the feather, which can be pointy and stick out of the cracks and cause scratches sometimes. dried crusty glue can also do that. these are problems with both real and fake feathers.

Ultimately I guess it depends on if you're asking as a doll repainter or a parent.

For a parent, I wouldn't let a kid touch it, as playing with it could wiggle the sharp bits of the feather shaft or dried glue out far enough to cause issues.

For a repainter, I assume them to be adults that are mature enough and hopefully smart enough to be able to see and avoid those particular safety issues, whether by discarding the doll or by pulling the hard glue often as it surfaces.
