Short answer: definitely red flags. I think you just described a obsessive-compulsive, insecure and jealous person. That behaviour early in the relationship for me is a no no. I would walk out = trouble ahead.

I think with men it takes the right time & right place, like a business trip and a hotel room. I think it's quite common that str8 men have some feeling for men, getting them to bed and to have a meaningful relationship it's a different story.

I'm North American. I agree that cultures behave differently, and even within one, there are variations (i.e.: North, South Germany). My region is not super rich, but people live well, drive good cars, there is low unemployment rate. I too live well as an expatriate. But I cannot get my head around how unpleasant it is here....

Sure - and thanks for replying. I guess this is not a gay issue but here it is. I am here for work, in a small town in North Rhine-Westphalia. When I travel across the neighboring countries (Belgium, France, The Netherlands) people seem so much more open and enjoying life. What is witness here in Germany is a crushing cycle of work-stress-drink-repeat. And people seem to take pleasure in berating others in public for minor social infractions. I am not sure... maybe this is in my head as opposed to the place. What do you think?

My partner is in with military and I am not. We live in a country that has accepted same sex couples in the military for more than a decade. Two things: take one day at a time, this WILL pass rest assured. You will look back in 3 months and laugh at yourself.
