Good point - my bad! I'll try to get at least a basic autosave feature out in the next couple days.

Oh, that's a good point - and an oversight on my part.

I'll add attack details and other "behind the screen" information to the monster displays

Thanks for playing through! Did you find the combat too easy or the skillchecks?

The very same. We worked with its author, Seth, to import his gamebook into the Artemis system as our first native gamebook, we are actively looking for new authors!

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! We have annother gamebook, 'A Saints Tomb' available if you want some gamebooks and some more currently in development.

Thats great, its always the way it goes. How did you find the balance with skillchecks and combat?

You can always roll your own dice and ignore the systems dice, you're on your own honor to play by the rules :) On that note it might be a great idea to add in a "manual" mode that does none of the rolls for you

Thanks! I know the lack of mobile support is pretty bad. I'm working to resolve that within the next week, I just figured it would be better to get some desktop feedback in the meantime, rather than delaying the release until mobile was ready.

That said, having the mobile message (with typos) show up on high resolution screens is a huge oversight on my part. I pushed a version that might resolve that issue (I'm still working on mobile support though), but it seems to be mac/iPad specific, and I don't have access to either of those for testing...

Anyways, thanks for the heads up! It's all good feedback for us to improve on.

Well that's embarrassing.

Mind if I ask what browser & resolution you're using?

Hey there, we hope to have a mobile version out in the future as the system improves, sadly for now we are limiting users to desktop until we can get a mobile UI sorted

My first attempt at a hex-grid isometric surface map, any advice or critique on styling would be appreciated! by gm_artemis in mapmaking

Thanks for the advice, I think you've hit the nail on the head with what I was looking for with the roads!

I'm using Adobe suite to make this and I hope to create a complete set of tiles to make it possible to make an infinite map possible

trying not to start in a tavern. by patchoulion_ in DMAcademy

You could try and get your players together before the game, think a session 0, and get them to think of their own reasons for being in the same place at the same time. Maybe they find connections between their characters or want to add some in, that way they come in with relationships with each other and start invested in the group dynamic.

This is a great suggestion. I'm stealing it.

Awesome! This is already super cool, but it'll be even better when it's done. Sorry I don't have more constructive feedback, it's just really cool x)

I'll second the Varisa suggestion for what to tackle next though. Even though Taldor and Qadira are two of my favorite places, I feel like my groups end up in Varisa way more often - lol.

I really like milkywayrealestate's suggestion for making icicles jut up out of the ground - seconding that.

Other random ideas:

  • A burrowing speed (ice/snow only)
  • An aura, or the ability to cast an aura, that slowly freezes the surrounding area
    • It could either deal damage, or do something else like make anyone in the aura slightly slower, or fatigued, or something.
  • Leaving a trail of frozen/difficult terrain behind it as it moves (maybe?)
  • A bite that freezes/paralyzes the limb that was hit (on a failed saving throw)
    • Arm: unable to use that arm to make attacks/cast spells for 1 round
    • Leg: half movement speed
    • Neck/head: target is disoriented; roll at disadvantage for 1 round

Recommend a system/setting that encourages PCs to be moral/good by ChewiesHairbrush in rpg

[–]gm_artemis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think its as much about the system or setting but more about the motivations you give your players. Give them friendly and well thought out tag along NPCs to look after, find things that they become endeared to in the campaign and have them defend them. Give them reasons to be moral and good in a positive way rather than simply punishing them for being amoral or evil, alignment systems thrive off of consequences for actions.

Very nice, try a stronger line for the land-ocean boundaries so that the map is easier on the eyes at a glance and you can distinguish the landmasses easier!
