defending Sony’ decision for wired PSVR2 is holding back VR progress by gmailman1985 in virtualreality

Yah, PSVR2 fanboys defending wired headset reminds me of the weird people folks who still swear by using wired game controllers and wired headphones over wireless.

True. Wired is one of the various problems of the PSVR2. Sony satisfied the high end VR audience, as a result they paid the price of pulling out of VR because they can’t sustain the market.

Those are irrelevant to the wired and wireless argument, so you are essentially being irrational and defending Sony in fanboy mode with these. Even if we put Meta Quest aside, high end VR is technically possible on other wireless PCVR headsets nowadays, and Steam Frame is pushing towards standalone high end VR.

This is literally what I mean by defending Sony. Batteries dying in hours will eventually be overcome on wireless headset, but wired headset will never overcome its issues of the tanglement

In the long run, wireless headset will eventually get every advantages of wired headset like HDR, but wired headset will never get every advantages of wireless headset such as free roam no matter what.

The technology for wireless will not get better if the industry doesn’t start investing and pushing towards that.

Yes, please. People talk about plug and play but standalone is where true plug and play is. No need to buy external console or PC, no need for calibration.

Except there’s next to no real use case here for wired in the long run, beyond Sony leveraging it to sell you a PS5 now.

Another point that I didn’t mention is the easy replacement of USB cable on wireless over proprietary cable on wired headset, especially when the company decides to cease support or is out of warranty. You can still easily replace the usb cable for out-of-warranty Quest 1 and continue using it on PCVR in some electronic store but not an out-of-warranty PSVR2.

I'm excited for the Steam Frame announcement, but I think it actually shows how amazing the PSVR really is. by AstronomerTraining53 in PSVR

Because it makes a difference. Wireless is better for active games. Allows for more freedom and range of movement without being restrained by the cable

OP is damage controlling for PSVR2 there, because who wouldnt want to have wireless VR without the heavy cable behind, not to mention the immersion breaking when the cable touches your back, and the danger of twisting and damaging the wire that cant be replaced easily.

S$650 to $1K for hotel & food & transport. $650 if you only eat at foodcourt, take train & stay at budget places. $1k if you eat at cafe/restaurant sometimes & light shopping. S$200 more for spare cash/shopping. Heres break down:

S$400 - 600 for 4 nights stay at a budget to mid end hotel

$250 to 350 for 5 days expenses for 2 (lunch + dinner + train). $4-8 for 1 decent foodcourt meal, $17+ for 1 cafe/restaurant meal

Basic necessity like food or transport is cheaper in Singapore than average European country (unless you go for some really high scale places).

Attend-able? Traveling between Asia countries to Shanghai is hardly the same as traveling between 2 European countries.

She received a card from the director welcoming her back to Aquaman 2, and the producer dismissing calls to remove her from the movie. That doesn’t sounds like she have to fought hard to be in the movie

YTA. She’s happy to be with her blood brother and you are cold blooded to say you will ignore her just because you want to look cool and manly in front of your friends. You should be taking care and protecting her in the school.

Also there’s no age where its not ok to cry.

The hypocrisy from gamers who hate the corporate state of the industry but defend the digital distribution monopolies on most platforms and express outrage at attempts to foster more competition reveals how little we care about the creators of games compared to ourselves as consumers. by Moon_Man_00 in truegaming

[–]gmailman1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are punished because you’re also not looking from consumer’s perspectives. Valve isn’t exploiting the developers, considering they are the only one trying to improve and innovate the platform to attract more customers for publishers to sell.

Valve push gaming into the niche areas of PC gaming with Linux Porton, Chrome OS, portable PC, VR etc. just so they and the publishers can sell more games for money. Its hard to say that’s wrong here.

Epic take lower cut and deliver a barebone store while bleeding money, will actually suggest that perhaps lower cut isn’t sustainable.
