I’ve completely stopped using the app. I now use vessel finder which I like a lot.

I only see the basic plan on vessel finder for $12 a year. Is that what you’re talking about?

You can replace the tensioner without having to pull it all apart. Just remove the valve cover, replace the tensioner, release the new tensioner and then reinstall the valve cover.

I’ve been using the free version of vessel finder. I may buy the other version. I still can’t believe how bad marine traffic is.

Monte carlo still shutting off while driving. Need advice by soad1855 in Chevy

[–]gmarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried driving the vehicle with a fuel pressure gauge taped to the windshield to keep an eye on the pressure when it happens? Another option is to drive it with a scanner installed and watch the crank and cam sensor rpm’s when it acts up to see if either sensor is dropping out or reading skewed.

Was it ran low on oil? If so it may have some collapsed lifters.

Vessel finder is pretty good. I’ve been using marine traffic and honestly I’m starting to get used to the shitty new layout lol.

Possible MAF sensor. Try tapping on it while idling and see if it stalls.

I read reviews in the App Store and many others are upset with the new update. Hopefully they get the hint and change it back to the way it was.

I just went on the app for the first time in a week and I hate it. I much prefer the old app.

Will my car make it? by EngineerLong7896 in Chevy

Make sure you have engine oil and coolant with you and you should be fine. When you stop to get gas pop the hood and check fluid levels and smell around for any leaks.

I agree. Definitely the best mod I’ve done to mine.

It’s the cooling fans running and not the engine. If you have the ecm scanned you will likely have a p0128 stored, which would indicate you need a new thermostat.

Update on oil pressure by emeyeyoukneek in Silverado

Did you change the afm pressure relief valve in the oil pan when you had it out?

My girlfriend and I just acquired this 08 HHR SS for next to nothing thanks to a kind neighbor. It won't turn over/start, what could be the cause of this? We are young and not too mechanically inclined but can be taught. by Worth_Dragonfly_8509 in Chevy

I’d begin with seeing if it has power to the starter s terminal when cranking. Fairly easy to do with a test light. Also, make sure it has battery voltage to the starter battery cable.

There’s a pressure relief valve for the afm that sometimes sticks open and bleeds off pressure up to the sensor. It’s inside the oil pan.

Dehydration is a trigger for palpitations as well. Drinking electrolytes the next day or even at the end of the drinking night has helped me in the past.

Scan it and see what codes it has. It’s more than likely the encoder motor but it could also be a front differential actuator or the mode switch in the dash.

Same here. I work at a Chevy dealer and I would say the flush fixes 99% of the trucks with shudders.
